Help with diffuser to fit Remus CF tips

Hey there,

So I’ve been actively searching for a new diffuser before my Remus catback exhaust lands. I’ve emailed numerous parts distributors trying to ensure fitment prior to install. My tips are 4” each (102mm) and I’ve been told that I need a 10” opening in diffuser to fit these tips. My preference is an aggressive looking m5 style type diffuser.

The problem is that a lot of these companies are foreign and have either not understood my question or just not being willing to open the package to measure.

Can anyone help provide links to diffusers that have known measurements for or that are installed with Remus CF tips (or comparable sizes tips).

Several of these companies have given very unhelpful answers or refuse to do returns in the event of fitment issues. I just want to have a new diffuser ready to go that will fit so I can slap it on when I install the new exhaust.

My understanding between pre-LCI and LCI is that the latter has a wider top to the exhaust, more rectangular shape than curved, which causes diffusers to have 8-10” openings instead of 6” or so on pre-LCI.

Although I just got the LCI version of RW Carbons diffuser, and I’m a little worried the exhaust still won’t fit. Here’s measurements:

If it’s not very clear, it’s about 9” bottom and tapers gradually to 7” on top. Middle measures about 8”.

That’s super helpful to a few looking into diffusers for their Remus exhaust. Specifically Daniels1117 with his CF titanium tips. That’s the LCI RWS style correct? From those measurements the titanium tips will not fit.

102mm = 4.016in. 102x2 = 204mm = 8.031in for both tips on either side. I assume the tips don’t sit flush against one another so we also have to consider the space between the tips as well is the space (if any on either side, between the diffuser and each tip).

I spoke to Rw and they told me that I would still likely have to trim the diffuser to get the CF tips to fit correctly. Keep this in mind when ordering. I’m having a very hard time gettin straight answers with actual measurements from many of the companies I’ve been communicating with.

8 1/4

I guess if the opening is 9” they will fit, might be a bit tighter than mine. My diffusers opening is 9 1/4, was advertised as 10”.

This is super helpful and pretty much the exact angle and measurements I think I need to make this decision. You’ve come in super clutch for me twice now!

Thank you to all who provided pics with measurement. Going to measure my OEM diffuser when I get home and revisit some of the aftermarket diffuser options with new measurements in mind!

I had my eye on that skracjng one. I really like the CF and gloss black accents. From the pics it looks like that one would probably work with my Remus tips, I think.

It’s hard to tell without having the product in my hand!

Upon further review, sadly it looks like this won’t work.

SKRacing one is by far the smallest of the 3.

I think you’ll need an LCI compatible diffuser for your exhaust, even if you don’t have the LCI M550i. At least that’s how it appears from the exhaust dimensions shared here.

I DO have an LCI m550. It’s a 2022.

Ah then you’re in the same trap as I am. We don’t have many options. Most of the advertised ones are incorrectly listed as applying to both pre-LCI and LCI years.

Reality is we have Karbel, RW Carbon, and the Bimmerplug one for carbon fiber options.

We have Ikon and a few eBay non-carbon options that appear to be ikon knockoffs that work.

I wanted carbon fiber, and of the 3 options I felt RW was best.

Something to note, I asked Matt at RW carbon if they were releasing new styles anytime soon. He mentioned it was possible we see one new compatible style by end of this year.

Do we have any idea of what style the new diffuser coming from RW carbon might be?

From the pics, this one appears to have the largest opening. I don’t love the grey flap underneath but I’m sure that can easily be wrapped in gloss black or CF by my friend who owns a wrap store. This one is still in contention for me. I spoke to RW today and they pretty much told me they think that I’d would still have to trim their diffuser to make my tips fit.

Not sure how I feel about having to take a dremel to a ~$1k diffuser. When are you doing your exhaust install?

Yeah I feel your concern there... I’m actually doing the Dinan but I think tips are similar to the Remis?

My exhaust is on back order so not sure when it will be installed. For now I will have stock exhaust tips.

No clue, but my guess would be closer to the M5 style as that seems to be the most popular option.
