Not sure it was exactly this but something v similar on my new e91 330i applied by the dealer.
Amazing, dirt just fell off, it was like teflon.
Hope it works same for you after 3 years it was still doing its job, not entirely sure about the never longer term.....

$895 and includes a free car wash every month for 3 years at participating places. It is applied now and reapplied as needed for life of the car. It is the teflon coating. My wife actually convinced me to get it and I am glad I did. Med Blue looks like it is going to be hard to take care of.

Waste of money. You can spend $50 for carpro quartz and get better performance.

Can I apply Carpro Quartz on a brand new car directly? Or do I have to still wash it and remove possible wax? Not sure if the brand new cars are waxed or not.

Could you wax over it or there is no need to use wax anymore?

Simonize was the coating used before most people posting here were born. Obviously this is a new updated version.

That free car wash is going to do more damage to your paint then anything else. My dealership told me I can get a free car wash every Saturday. Anyone who got a car from them can but it will cause scratches so I went to the cheap gas station touchless wash today. Nothing touches the car but water and only in the winter.

The ceramic coatings memorialize the current state of the finish. A new car still needs to be corrected before locking in the paints condition.

The journey from factory floor to dealership is a war zone on your new paint. I would completely correct the car before coating it (clay bar, etc). You would be amazed at the condition of the new paint when looked under the proper light. Much of the cost of having ceramic coatings applied is the paint correction labor which proceeds the actual application of the coating.

This is just a FYI and interesting little read about when your car gets to its destination. The 7-Series, 5-Series, and 3-Series are all shipped with a thick waxy coating. This coating is removed with a very hot power car wash.

Personally, I have never believed in the "never wax again" coatings. I am old enough to have waxed cars in the past (1954 Ford Crestliner with gangster whitewalls and fender skirts!) with Simonize products. Since purchasing my Porsche in 2007, I have used nothing but Ecosmart RU on all my cars, a waterless wash from ChemicalGuys.com. It has clay (kaolin) and carnuba in a lubricant and emolient base, and cleans and waxes as you buff it with microfiber. The car is both restored and protected each time you use it. Swirl marks are not a problem. I buy the microfiber from Costco in bulk. I highly recommend it. (I am not a salesperson for them, just a guy who doesn't use water anymore) My 2 cents.

My 2¢, I also use the bulk microfiber towels from Costco. Work great but I was convinced when I was at a exotic car repair shop that had mostly Ferrari's and noticed a package of the Costco towels there.

I opted not to spend the $$$ on a Full Ceramic coating. I went with ChemicalGuys CarbonFlex C9. My detailer came in, corrected the Paint and applied for me. Then next day I put on 2 coats of JetSeal and a coat of ButterWax for good measure.
The Detailer said the CarbonFlex was easy enough for me to have applied had I wanted to.

So when everyone is talking about "paint correction" what exactly are doing? Is it wet sanding as the detailer I talk too does or it just steps of polish, etc? I'm mostly interested in regards to a brand new 4 week old car.
