M850GC vs X6 M50

Hey guys I know it's not the right forum but I wanted a neutral forum's opinion. I'm torn between a 2021 X6 m50 and a really good deal on a fully loaded m850 gc. we're a family of 4 I'm alone 90% of the times besides the morning drop off of the kids, cargo usage is not a daily thing but would be nice to have when you need it, I also live in quebec where we deal with snow between 4 and 5 months a year.
I posted a similar posts in the 8 series as well as the X5/6 forum, and both forums are saying to go with their cars, i.e. 8 series forum to go with the 8 and the other forum to go with the X with no bad arguments, so I figured I'll try here.

I came from a 2017 Range Rover into a 2020 M550i couple weeks ago and I'm loving the change from SUV into a sport sedan which handles way better. M850 GC to me felt very long as that was the other car I was looking at but the handling of these cars is much better then an SUV and if you're driving alone and wanna have fun and drive a sportier ride id say do the 8 series as driving an SUV can get boring at times. Both great cars tho!

I agree with Nate1616. Both are good cars but I would also opt for the 8 series. It should be a lot more fun to drive.

I cross shopped a Volvo XC60 T8 against the BMW 530e and I thought the 530e handled a lot better. Being closer to the ground really helps performance.

I am also not sure how much more storage space you get in the X6. I suspect that it is prettly similar to the 850GC.

I think the X6 M50i seats and shoulder room are a lot more comfortable if you're a big guy with broad shoulders- so I give it the win on seating comfort. Other than that, 850GC wins in every other way- luxury, fun to drive, performance, and styling.

Seats are very personal. This forum is filled with folks who love or hate particular BMW seats.

Raising seats is a good point. But I would go further and suggest you ride in both.

I recently read a review of an 8 series where it ran within 0.2 seconds of a 911 on a bendy track. Go for the 8 series!

I'am totally neutral since not in the market for any of those.

The M850gc wins in all aspects that matter: better vehicle dynamics, better efficiency, better performance, better comfort (yes!), better high speed stability, (almost) as practical, a gem to they eye ico with the X5/6, faster and more fun all the time.

I'll throw my vote in for the M850i as I just don't find the current X6 very appealing from styling standpoint. Among other things, the rear end of those don't look quite right to me.

ok I'm from Toronto and go out to Tremblant, Montreal and Massif every year. So when you say it would be nice to have room when needed to carry stuff, what stuff are you talking about? not much room in a GC. Also is the 850 GC xdrive?

yeah it's xdrive, the stuff I talk about is the costco runs and the occasional vacation luggage

Not easy to park even with all sensors / cameras 360°! You could do self parking but could be a drag.

Think 6 series difficult to park?! Try the 8

Better looking car than X though.
But the X6 is even much wider than the 8 series.

Which is one reason I wouldn't buy an 8 series. I prefer a smaller car. The M3/M4/4 series would be good if it didn't have such a hideous grill.
