Dash cam fuse
Bit of help required please have re- installed my dash cam this morning everything according to plan apart from I don't seem able to find a ignition feed in fuse box.
I did a bit of research before starting and the two likely fuses a few people have posted are F46 and F 59, I have tried both of these but them don't seem to switch off ( after 10 mins) anyone else managed to find a switched feed? |

I used the same fuse spots on my 530e, what I have found though is that it takes a while longer to shut off, especially if you have the car plugged in. Not sure if this is because it is a hybrid and the electrical is set up differently or not, but I have not run in to any issues with mine being hooked up like it is over the past 3 months.

So which fuse have you got yours in F46 or F 59? I've left mine in F59 for now and yes I had it on charge whilst fitting. |

I used the F59 fuse and it worked fine for my radar detector. As noted above that fuse is part of a circuit that has a time delay so the detector (or dash cam) stays on a while after you leave the car. It also goes on when you approach the car and open the door. Here is a link to the instructions that I utilized to hard wire my V1. I hope you will find them useful.--Bob

I have mine hooked up using the guide Warp Ten linked to using both the switched and non-switched fuse (as my cam has a "parking mode") and it seems to work well.
When it comes to looking for the car going off for the switched fuse you have to keep in mind that the car doesn't "go off" immediately once you turn it off. It takes about 10 minutes or so to do its full shutdown and if you have the key nearby that can wake it up again (or delay its sleep cycle). If your cam has a visible for the outside power indicator I would keep an eye on that to see if it has shutoff about 15 minutes after you've locked the car and left the keys in the house. |

Cheers for that, I had read the fuse box layout wrong and had it in the wrong empty slot, F59 was at the other end nearest the bulkhead, nearly covered by the carpet.
All fine now switching off and on when car comes to life. 👍 |
