Driver Seat slide back and steering wheel lift on shut down.

Does anyone know if this is possible on a 2019 540ix Msport ?

I’ve had this on my past Infiniti’s

And other non lux vehicles.

Strange to me that this car does not have it.

I am on my fourth 5 series, in all of them steering wheel raised up automatically upon engine shutdown\exit. I do not recall any specific iDrive selection which had to be explicitly checked off for this to work, don't think there is one. Its been a default behavior on all 5 series I had.

The seat does not move back automatically though. Perhaps it can be coded.

In my prior 3 series I had "easy entry" coded. That moves the seat back to exit and after entering and turning on the car, back to the set position.

I did not code my current car because I find the steering wheel moving up is adequate for me. But I would expect that easy entry could be coded.

Will call the genius line and check. The last person I asked said that BMWs don’t have that feature.

Thanks

This is absolutely an option in BimmerCode if you can't get an answer from the Genius folks.

Curious--where in Bimmercode? Do you need to go Advanced? I know that BMW's have come standard with the steering wheel tilt up at exit for a while but I have never seen a seat slide back on exit. (Sold BMWs and Minis for 8 years 'til 2014). I do have that option in my Corvette Z06 and I like it. If it is possible to activate seat slide back at exit on my 2019 540xi M Sport I would love to find out how it can be done. --Bob

My 2020 530e did not do this, but I got a software update at my first annual service in Dec and the steering wheel lift started happening (but not seat slide back). Also, I got a new display of HP and torque in the instrument panel display.

id like to code this too, I've done it on many previous BMWs to allow seat back and wheel up/in but can't find the right parameter on the G30

The genius folks will tell you no.

Essentially, the coding will tell the power seat to slide back all the way and then forward again to your setting when you restart the car.

BTW...I am not saying that you can code this with Bimmercode. I don't know the answer to that. But a "real" coder should be able to do it. I had my prior car coded by Al Moretto remotely. I don't think he does it anymore but there are folks that do and you may have someone in your locality that can do it locally.

I apologize for the confusion. I had read elsewhere in the forums that the seat sliding was part of convenient opening but when I just went out to test it, the option isn't there in the G30.

It would be part of the Body Domain Controller if it was there.

Again, super sorry for speaking before confirming.

jsf721 Wheel lift up is a standard feature on G30 However, seats don't slide back. According to my knowledge it is an additional feature for M seats.

COBodom There is a checkbox in iDrive menu (under seat settings) to turn it on/off

Warp Ten Sophisto540 You can not code seat slide with BimmerCode

325_bucks Sophisto540 Warp Ten Parameters related with seat adjustments during easy/comfort entry can be found on CBFS_S15 and CFAS_S15 ECUs; not on BDC

The part where the seat moves back, isn´t that what is referred to as "gentlemans function"?

https://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1507732

Edit: Sorry, it wasn´t

I cannot get the wheel to lift in my 2019 540. The dealer and Genius are useless.

If someone can direct me to the location to activate it I’d be very appreciative. Thanks

According to the manual for my 2018 530e the rising and dropping of the steering wheel on entry and exit should be automatic. It is not a setting.

If yours does not do that, you have a faulty car. If you are still under warranty, demand that they fix it. Probably need to replace a part.

I’ll definitely do that. I’m under warranty and service is due in 3k miles.

Depending on which market/country you are in, this may be a function only available if you if have electric memory seats or the comfort access pack.

Well, it used to be that way in the past!

Also, if in your preferred driving position the wheel is set in a 'high' position, maybe it is out of the parameters for raising on exit???
