Any long term Xpel people out there?
I was considering Xpel PPF. The prices are nuts, but it may help my OCD issues while driving on the highway CT highways suck....tons of trucks dropping crap all over the highway, morons paying more attention to their phones going off the highway into break down lanes kicking crap all over the place. It makes me nuts. Any thoughts on this? 1300 miles and I already see tiny chips on the front of my car (Bernina Grey). Full or partial coverage (bumper, fenders, hood, mirrors and rockers)? I really don't want to lay out 6k on full coverage. Thoughts? Any people with experience with Xpel?

I installed 3m on a car 2011. Re did the car in XPEL in 2021 and the new stuff is so much better. Less orange peel. Paint is perfect under the film. I covered all surface that the wind hits while driving plus the splat areas. Behind tires.
If chips bother you like they do me I say do it. I’m covered like the recommended ultimate picture. Last edited by jsf721; 03-24-2022 at 04:27 AM.. |

I do not remember the charge to remove but the whole job was $ 2,200 ish to remove the hood, front 1/4 panels both sides, new splat areas, polish paint, re apply above area and protect with a quick ceramic spray for PPF. I later had the whole car corrected, and coated at a later date.

I am never on my desktop on here but now I see you are in CT. Detailers Domain is in NJ close to you and I know Phil. He is the guy to see over in your areea. Tell him Jeff sent you. He is the king of detailing in NJ. He does corrections, coatings and paint protection film. Plus he sells what he uses.

X-Pel is worth every penny. I will never go without it. Not one mark on my car. I have the front bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors, so basically full front. My rear bumper is also PPF's. You can't even tell that any of it is PPF's unless you feel it.

I hear you, ask the person that has to follow me down to Jersey (two round trips) if it is worth the trip….she would violently disagree.

My detailer has a loaner, this way my other half doesn't have to shuttle me and she doesn't have to know what I am doing to my car so I don't have to listen to her!

U dont need to come to NJ, I am sure there is a quality installer in your neck of the woods. I have been using Xpel for years and like Joe says it's a great product. I only do my front end and side mirrors and then ceramic the entire car, great combo!!

Definitely my next color if it's not overdone by then. Just such a nice color.

I had the same concern when I was buying it. Will this color stand the test of time is the big question. I think it's much nicer than some of greys offered by other manufactures. BMW did a great job on this one. I hope it can be matched if I ever get into a fender bender.
