Key Fob Replacement

The Key Fob I use everyday is showing signs of ware (some dents and scratches), it works perfectly but compared to the spare one it looks well used - like myself.
Just wondering if anyone has replaced just the outer case or shell as I believe a BMW replacement (entire new Fob) is expensive, it's a 2019 G30.
Any thoughts or experience on this would be most welcome.

Id recommend just throwing a case on it to hide the scratches behind a shiny case. Just be aware most of the nicer looking ones are a pain to get open again so if you need the removable key its practically impossible without a small screwdriver.

Have you looked into ordering a new blank aftermarket key from eBay and then having a local BMW locksmith program it to your car? It'll be almost the exact same weight and look as the OEM one for a fraction of the price. I don't own a G30 so I can't comment on availability, but I did get the G05 X5 Competition replica key for my F10 after I got bored of the ugly stock fob. Cost me a total of $150CAD including the keyfob itself + programming.

I got a spare key fob shell from AliExpress recently. $15. I couldn't believe the quality for the money! Swapped my circuit board in yesterday, you would not be able to tell the difference!

I am sure such covers exist for BMWs but I have done it only for my Corvette. The covers match my car's color and the buttons all work fine. But Silverydragon72 is right, you need a small screwdriver or some similar implement to open the cover. I have only needed to open it when changing batteries. --Bob

Edit: As I expected, I Googled BMW G30 key fob covers" and got lots of alternatives. --Bob
