BMW FLEX-DISC REPLACE (Guibo)

My good friends! This will show you how to replace your flex disc also knows as the "Guibo". If you have vibration coming from your steering wheel or any kind of noises coming from underneath its most like the flex disc. Especially folks with tuned transmissions..These take on tons of stress and dry rot overtime. Here's a DIY on how to replace at home ✅️

Let me know if you have any questions below. Link to Flex Disc & tools required are in video bio!

Thanks for this. Although maybe a DIY for the mechanically inclined with the tools etc. it does appear rather involved.
It would appear from your vid there is no way to visually inspect without taking everything apart? I ask because I am currently chasing vibrations would be nice if it could be inspected w/o taking everything apart. It almost seems like you should be committed to changing it if you go through the process.

It's visible without taking things apart. My dealer noticed it had hairline cracks when I went in for something trivial. They didn't take anything out. I agree, this DIY is not for a novice with a ratchet set.

BMW service manual says to check this at every oil change. So, if you have your car serviced at the dealer, they should be looking at this.

The install isn’t difficult, it’s very straight forward. Only important part of it is marking the 3 parts for alignment when re-assembling, they’re all balanced together.

BMW also wants you to replace all the bolts/nuts, some of the exhaust hangers and nuts, plus the V band clamp and seal on the exhaust, so take that into consideration if you DIY. I’d hate to put it all together just to have an exhaust leak, then have to get back under the car to fix it.

Thanks. This is not a job I would take on but good info none the less. Wonder how many hours a tech would need?

Had mine replaced under the new car warranty w/30-ish thousand miles on it. I saw the cracks when I went to my friend's shop and we put it up on the lift shortly after I bought it.

Didn't know about the exhaust stuff, has anyone with aftermarket catback exhausts have issues with dealers not wanting to touch them? My guibo needs to be replaced and I'm still under warranty.

edit: well nevermind, guibos not covered under the extended warranty.

I watched your video and I'm pretty confident I can make it happen. Thanks for the video. However now the kit is out of stock. I went to FCP euro to got both the flex disc on the way.

As for nuts and bolts; does anybody have the actual part numbers? Every time I enter the part numbers I find on realoem at my local dealership wholesale site, it says the parts are not compatible. (https://www.bmwpartsnow.com/). Also trying to find the parts elsewhere has been adding grey to my head.
