Hi,

After my beloved 540i got written off unfortunately, I am looking for another 540i. 540i is a much rarer car here in Australia.

I have come across a used 2017 540i, which has the BMW MPPSK. The car looks mint, and the owner is a car guy.

My question is a 540i B58 with MPPSK (not many favourable reviews over the 'net), can I put another tune on it, if I wanted to ? Something like MHD etc ?

Can I throw another idea out there, would you consider a m550?
Think I’m right in saying thisbarrived in Australia for LCI only (like the U.K.)
Reason for suggesting is that it will have the power you are after out of the box along with warranty etc. as I say just a suggestion

we got the m550i in non lci too, I think it was a 2020 only release, it had the id7 but the non lci body.

the m550i is about 50k-ish more than a 540i, as the 540i ended in 2018

bym007 I live close to that to 540i in sydney, he is in glenhaven. if you need someone to go out and take a walk around video for you.

Yes, you can. I did it 4 years ago.
When you go back to stock map it will be the mppsk

As others have said, you can. And if it has the full MPPSK pack you also got the new torque converter, which should make any further power boosts safer for the transmission.

The 540i (now mine) has MPPK, judging by the fact it has stock exhaust but uptick in power. MDecoder says engine is B58M.
