I can certainly understand. When it comes to pets, pain is the price we pay for love. And it's painful. Hang in there.

You must run in those circles as I can't see the connect!

Ha. Was thinking in the context of the well known phrase “my dogs are barking” = my feet hurt. Dogs = Feet.

Yeah, I must live a boring life, I am not familiar with that well known phrase, lol! Must be a mid-west saying

It just might be a midwestern saying. I've heard it used for years.

I got the reference immediately… it’s a common phrase down south also.

Sorry for your loss DrSteveB. I grew up with dogs, including my parents breeding hunting dogs. I've had some great ones over the years and probably had more dogs in my life than your average person. As a result, I've probably pondered the loss of a beloved dog more than most, as well. What I've settled on is that the grief and pain of loss is likely at least equal to the joy and love that you experience throughout your time with your dog. When you lose them though, the pain comes in a wave all at once as opposed to the love and joy that accumulates every day and every time you get to spend time with them. As much as the grief and loss hurts, at least in my mind, it is far surpassed by the joy brought into your life having the dog. If I had to trade the good experiences away so that I didn't have to feel the pain of loss, I can't think of a single instance that I would take that trade.

Maybe a mid west/southern thing, or I just live a sheltered life, which is quite possible!

Here is our current little guy, Bailey. He's a Boston Terrier, which I've learned translates to stubborn, flatulent and tireless.

Speaking of Shelties... here is a picture of our dear Gracie Mae. She passed on a few months ago at the ripe old age of 16. She was daddy's girl, and is sorely missed.

Let her in the G30 for the first time. I had to leave my car at a friend’s house to drive the wife’s car home (tequila). Only a few blocks away, so me and the golden walked to get it the next morning. I thought, because she’s a lazy girl, she’d just sit on the floorboard if I moved the seat back. Wrong! She enjoyed the Nappa leather and the vented seats. Might just have to get a cover to keep in the trunk. I like taking her places.

She’s beautiful, what’s a few claw marks on the leather
