This has probably been asked a thousand times. When I got my windows tinted, they mentioned a chrome delete would look awesome. I took it as an up sale issue, but recently I have been thinking about it. The problem is that since the car is blue, I don't know how it will look with black trim. I also wonder what adding carbon fiber parts would look like vs a total chrome delete. I also think about blackout taillights. So, considering that, does any one have a blue G30 with black trim and/or blackout taillights? Just looking for some pics to help make a decision. Thanks in advance.

Not blue. Mine is dark graphite. But I used the shop that tinted my windows to then do a chrome delete of the window trim. They used 3M gloss black. I haven't changed any other chrome pieces (yet), but I think it looks better with the windows done. I think yours would really look good with the window trim wrapped in black.

Here's pics of mine before and after. Not blue, but hopefully it helps a little.

You know, I am not into Chrome, but I do like the Cerium Gray trim on the M550. That said, I do think the chrome looks good on your color. If it were any of the black or gray tones BMW offers, I would be all over it.

In terms of smoked or tinted tails, I have never been a fan. I would swap them out for LCI tails, they have a lot of black in them and 3D effects. I find the pre-LCI tails are really starting to look dated and are very close to the look of the prior generation F10. As much as I don't love the huge red pre-lci tails, I think huge smoked pre lci tails would look worse.

Just my opinion of course, it is your car. Again, I do like your color with the chrome trim.

In terms of mixing in CF. I did and I think it looks great. Grill is CF, spoiler is CF and diffuser is gloss black, the rest of the bits are original Cerium.

I did a chrome delete on the car including front grill and added some black to the rear lights to break down the red a bit.

You did a nice job as well. I totally forgot about black taping the edges of the pre LCI tails similar to the look of the edges of the LCI's. They came out great. Definitely takes the edge off.

I had the wrapping guy do it with 3M gloss black, on the F90 I sketched out myself, measured by tape the non lit parts and cut it, I used the laminex precut tail light tints, tints are more forgiving than hard black.

So is it 3M gloss black on the outside of the light, or is it on the inside?

Do you think the OEM black side vents are glossy enough to match the wrapped window trim, or would I be better off going with wrap on everything? I like having the real thing, when practical to do so. But even more so, I would want everything to match well. I don't want anyone but me to know if the black window trims is wrapped but the vents are real black pieces.

I think you are more OCD than me! As long as the vents aren't mat black (and I know they aren't), I think it will all look fine together.

the side vents on mine are OEM, the skirts and splitters are aftermarket. all look the same to me.

I'll be getting the chrome on the handles covered in gloss black soon, so that should give us a better idea of the match.

although Junebug85 has already done this, so he may be better placed to comment.
