Carplay activated but doesnt appear in car
Hey all,
I just bough a MY2019 G30 without carplay. I tried adding it on the Connected Drive store but I cant access the store and I get the message "The BMW ConnectedDrive Store is no longer available in this vehicle. Subscribe or renew you services at www.bmw-connecteddrive.com". I went into that website and set up a new account and added the car to the account. The website allowed me to access the Connected Drive Store through that portal so I added the Carplay in the store to my account and paid 300eur. Got an email and a text from BMW to say its now activated and should be working. However the feature is not available in the car. I tried removing and repairing my iPhone to the car but no luck. There just doesnt appear to be any trace of carplay on the car. Anyone have any ideas what this could be? Frustrated as the money has come out of my account and iv got nothing back for it!!! |

I’d reach out to ConnectedDrive. CarPlay is free on MY2019+ so you shouldn’t have been charged.

In car go to Connected Drive menu. Then select option key on iDrive controller. Login to your connected drive account. Then click update bmw assist.
Exit car and lock doors. Wait 20 minutes then restart car and see if Carplay shows up. If not, give it till tomorrow. Bmw servers sync data every so often...

My understanding was this was a worldwide change by BMW. Forums users around the world reported getting it for free when the change happened in December.
