Gentlemen, could anybody confirm if 540i(2022, rear drive) can use this switch? The passenger seat has memory function.

Got the new switch yesterday. I should have time tomorrow to install it.

It will work on comfort seats, not sure for the non-comfort with memory though.

Easy way... Does the top of the seatback move independently of the bottom of the seatback?

Did you need to code in the additional functionality? or was it auto-recognized?

I want this but am not willing to remove the door card. There are some things I am a total wuss about! Seems like a PIA to pry off based on the video. Not so much the pry, but getting it through the hole. I think I would be more likely to pry it out from the front if I were to go for it. How did you go about it?

Does the new one not cover the area of the old one completely? I caught that in this thread it did not cover. I think that would bug me. Let me know. Definitely not completely out of the picture yet!

Joe, I highly do not recommend trying to pry the switch out from the front, this will definitely break some clips if you attempt it. The door card is actually a lot easier to remove and reinstall compared to previous BMW models.

As for the switch, you can tell it is maybe about 1/8 of an inch smaller in perimeter than the original switch and the buttons might be chrome. Those two things do bug me and I'm sure it will bother the hell out of your OCD.

I did not get any chrome buttons, maybe it depends on the color.

Thank you. The smaller size is definitely a deal breaker.

Interesting. I got mine out of Lithuania and it fits perfectly. On my black/blue interior the silver actually works, IMHO, with the other silver accents on the door panel.

Joe, I did what this guy did:

I had to use needle-nose vice grips to get the factory switch out.

Thanks. Do you have a picture of your switch installed? Love to see these chrome buttons and the fitment.

Not sure how you got chrome buttons though.

my part number was 61316997300

for vehicles without massage(in black) should be 61316997294

Thanks for this. Appreciate it. I've got the massage seats and I also have the extended leather, so my door card is leather. I wonder if these two differences has anything to do with fit.

Thanks. This is the switch I would need in black as well. I'm not sure I could deal with the space around it. I'm pretty sure the switches with the chrome are ones for 7 series or X7. They have chrome buttons throughout.

One of the videos in this thread shows how to change the buttons. You could swap in all the black ones except for the passenger button if you wanted to.

I was experimenting with removing the buttons on the old switch. The more I live with it the more I like it. Being to actually see the buttons is a bonus! I actually toyed with the idea of replacing the passenger door switch.

Got it. I've seen a lot of people swap in the chrome buttons on the dash. It usually starts with the touch climate panel from a 7/X7.
