For an EV it's very fast but....
A porsche with a quart of the power is 10sec faster so that puts everything into perspective.
all those 0-60 0-100 0-a million record times... the track is a very different story.
The Nevara is struggeling in corners, probably the weight or bad tyres or both....

That said, looking at the video I have a feeling the driver held back on a lot of places and that there is still 10? sec or so of improvement possible, this car needs better tyres..

But if you play both video's side by side, it's amaizing how much faster a 911 gt3 rs is in the corners. It's that there are long straights on the nordschleife, but on the more twisty bits the gt3 RS is out of sight within 30sec or so. Day and night difference.

Just give it some time... Porsche has been developing race cars for ages and got a pretty long relationship with Nurburgring. As far as I remember this is one of the first attempts for Rimac. As EV technology and batteries get better I'm sure the next generation will be much quicker. Just look at the improvement of Model S from early P85 to Plaid.

Aren't there many garage projects which turned into major players, I'm sure you can name at least a few...

Yes . The straight line speed of the Rimac-Nevera is like Warp-Speed !
Don't see which (production)! car can beat the Nevera in a straight line .The Nevera can get to 60 mph in 1.85 seconds and shoot through the quarter-mile in 8.6 seconds.
It has to be be extemely fast for a $2.5Million car ,must be really fun to drive one .
But , It's a EV and in general I see EV's as #FireStarters . But the Nevera is the top-tech of the EV's .
The Rimac-Nevera is a great looking car ,built in Croatia . The design is just fantastic ..

Yep, they are inching closer to the top spot at Pike's Peak, just look at the results.

The Rimac-Nevera vs The Porsche 992 Turbo-S

In the real world would the Rimac still be there if caught in a downpour or going too quickly over a speed hump...

The gas Porsche would while the Rimac driver may have to get public transport home as his car is burnt to a cinder.

I think it will take solid state battery tech(10+ years away). Rimac is probably very close to maxing out current battery tech. Carbon fiber monocoque chassis with 120kwh battery and 4 motors. Not much else you can do, but add more aggressive aero. It still needs to remain a usable street car.

They could have named the third placed one, Mercedes-AMG Two instead of Black Series
