2014 M5 is lower than 2015 M3/4 now, when is the G30 M5 coming out? 2018?

At least the hood and grill line are nicely separated!

It's a mini 7 series. I'll assume it will be the size of an F02 "I" model as opposed to the new " Li" delete. But it's sexy. Looking forward to seeing the 535 and M5 landscape

Well spotted, you're right

I like the front, the car has presence, a bit of 4 series m sport about it, I think
Great renders!!
Everyone's commenting on the looks, but what do you think it's going to drive like? This will be what distinguishes it from the F10.

Disclaimer: I love my brand new F10 550i

I like the new head light to grill design too

The second shoulder line extending to the rear is much stronger and gives the rear wheel more presence.
Noted and thanks everybody for the positive comments! I have to admit I did not do much work on the bonnet (hood), I will do some more mods soon. I intentionally made the wheels/tyres bigger as the test mule's look a bit tiny wheen, for the size of the car and wheelarches (see pic).

Style-wise, in my opinion, the 5 looks a little derivative and very similar to the 7 series apart from some detailing. I actually used 7-series panels to morph into this G30, just to give you and idea... I think the kidney grill surrounds and headlight look too oversized (like the 7 series) and lack elegance. With LED technology car companies can do a better job in giving their models a more expressive and aggressive face, especially when the general shape of cars produced nowadays look very similar from one brand to another...

Cheers!

I agree. That "stretch" is too much for me too. I am just waiting for the next generation. They should follow the M2 headlamp style, it is more classy, elegant and aggressive in the same time; just as it supposed to be.

Also, I do hope that they will stop fooling around with that horrible horizontal line on the hood and will give the car a distinct design by ending the hood where it supposed to end: at the headlights and grille.

And please, don't hurt our intelligence with the "pedestrian protection" crap.

Thank you

PS
It is just me or is dated already? I don't see something that will give me goose bumps and a sense of "want it".

Render looks cool. Lights touching the grill makes it look wide like the 4&3.

Looks like a smaller 7 series

Gone are the days when each series had its own style

The headlight meeting the grill thing works on a SUV not too sure about the sedan/saloon/coupe and not too sure about the area between the two grills which is no longer colour coded on the new 7 series. Look a wee bit like the tiger nose grill design of the Kia models. But each to their own. No disrespect to German car exterior designers..their job is so much easier nowadays as they only need to tweak a few small details here and there and make the car bigger or smaller...seems to be the design-language for Merc, Audi and BMW these days. The models all look alike across the range nowadays just different sizes. I still have problem telling whether its a C class or S class from a distance lol. And the new E class is half way between the two.

Love to see rendering of the back, I am worried the design will end up like the one on the 7 series, if so that's me going to the Grand 4 or 3, as with every model the 5 is turning into a 7 series, and the 3 / 4 series catching the size and characters of the old 5.

A new one with the help of comments from members

bonnet character lines corrected, and enhancement of the side character lines.

I'm pretty sure there is another "air breather" on the top of the front fender that finishes the character lines on the side of the body. I imagine that it looks a little like the one from the 4 series gran coupe, but smaller, but I could be wrong...

Any comments and suggestions of course are welcome...

Holy chromoly kidney grills Batman!

Seriously, BMW needs to back off making these damn kidney grills massive and chrome, kind of tacky, works great on a GMC Denali, not here- lol. Hopefully that's not the plan.

Thx for sharing the render!
