Nervous after what happened with the F'10 V8.

I'm still not sure if the 540 isn't really the sweet spot for G30? And I love BMW V8's too having owned E39 540, X6 50i and E92 M3.
The B58 engine in the 540i should be much more reliable and durable than the N63 in the M550i. The M550i is pretty much a lease-only car due to the engine...
Not sure about that, this N63 isn't the one from 2009-2011, the motor in this new M550i is the N63TU2 if im correct. Obviously improvements have been made for better reliability.

7 MSD's
MSRP 83K
$1090.00 (he said Sale price is 83K, no discount at this time)

Too high for me right now. Im going to wait until the sale price drops and/or RV rises.
There are always discounts to be had, I would wait until they start hitting dealerships. No reason these won't be under 1k leases.

I agree. I think it will come down to mid to upper 900's. Then factor in discounts such as 1000 BMWCCA, 1000 Winter drive experience, etc., I'm guessing, and hoping, for low 900's

I agree, but the question is how well its tuned and if its RWD biased. If the S6 is any indicator it should be fast from the dig, but something tells me dynamically this will be up to par of last gen M5s

I don't see it on this forum but it's on another form (replace post with fest at the end of the name). Link is below but I don't know if it will get blocked or not.

Horrible colors and horrible interiors -- much disappointment in this.

Just went to my dealer and he gave me a copy of the US Order Guide. Effective 2/6/2017, but released 2/15/2017. It's very similar to the one posted here, except that metallic paints are listed as a NC option. Everything else is the same.

Smile Got One On Order

My local dealers in the Philadelphia region are taking orders. None of them have any allocation info yet. One dealer said production starts in April the other still says March.

Both dealers have the price list with the no charge metallic paint. One dealer would give no discount but my local dealer gave me 3% off MSRP. My order will sit in what they call the "Order Bank" until they get allocation, then it will be the first one they order. I really doubt I will see it before June. Having a fixed trade-in value for my 2014 550i is comforting.

Talking My M550i Due For Early May Delivery

Just came back from seeing my CA. He gave me my M550i production number and said the car was scheduled for production the 14th week in 2017 which is the first week of April. Based on his previous delivery schedules, he expects my delivery will be the first or second week in May.

I'll be the dealers first M550i ordered and delivered. He only got an allocation for one M550i as of today.

My friends kid me about what color White I ordered! I do have to say no one has crashed into any of my white cars as they are very visible especially at night. My cousin had a dark purple station wagon which was hit 4 times in 2 years. I doubt he will order that color again.

how BMW does eligible to drive with staggered setup which is absolutely incorrect. R20 245 35 and R20 275 30 has 1.1% difference in rolling diameter. I cant understand this thing. I know that on 3 series its gonna kill a TC completely. Does this system different on 5 series?! Sorry for the off topic but just read the pricing and option order list.

Size 1 Size 2
245/35 275/30
Diameter 26.8" 26.5" -1.1%
Width 9.6" 10.8" +12.5%
Sidewall 3.4" 3.2" -5.9%
Circum. 84" 83.2" -1.1%
Revs/Mile 777 784 +7

I had noticed that too, but they had the exact same tyres in the F10 as well as the F06, F12, F13 non M's with 20" wheels.

You can't run 285/30 on 9" wide wheels though which is what you get at the rear so not too many options unless you go out and buy F10 M5 wheels or something
