1300 miles so far on my '18 540i M-sport and the only issue I have had is a rear driver side door that has failed to open twice from the outside. Both times I or my child has had to open from the inside as the only way of getting in/out. Not sure if this has anything to do with it or not but I do have the soft close door option as part of the executive package.

Display issue

I got in the car this morning on my way to work and main screen kept dying and rebooting about 9 times in total but all worked when rebooting, I thought I will stop get out and lock car leave it a couple of minutes and the try again, when I did nothing would connect, no radio, sat nat. Connected drive, phone not connect, no apply playband speech button on steering wheel not working, rang dealer and they said seen it before either update system or needs new head unit ££££££, glad it is still under warranty, I will let you know how I get on booked in next Wednesday.

no issues yet (4 months). For every make of car there will always be some with issues and those are the ones who will post in forums like this. We rarely post a message "evberything working great so far".

I love the TPMS sensors and the exact pressures and tells you how much to put in etc. Also when the pressure only drops a little you can see now. Rather than a complete pressure loss or a drastic drop. As well as which tyre.

Loving the advances in tech...

lol and some post and complain more than others. I am OCD as hell and I still know if its not stopping the car from actually being a car its best to let it compound and deal with it at once vs just freaking out over every little thing.

I get that too. I imagine it will be quite difficult to diagnose as if I take it to the dealer Sod’s law says it will work perfectly

Thoughts and experience please.
Mine has no such issues. Had the car for slightly more than a month. The only issue is that I can feel slight vibrations from the engine at a standstill with the engine running at idle. seems rather pronounced and a passenger did comment bout that recently.

Another issue I have is that the gear shift in full auto mode, from 1st to 2nd, there is always this noticeable jerk. the rest of the gear changes silky smooth. just from the 1st to 2nd there is this jerk and drives me nuts. once time frees up, Im gonna send the car in to the dealer to highlight these 2 issues and hopefully they have a fix for it.

No faults in 4 months, just REALLY uncomfortable sports seats. Finally found a good position for the seat, but jeez they hurt my arse.

4 months and 10,000 KM and it’s been really solid - a blast to drive when pushed and really comfortable when just cruising. Best car I’ve owned yet.

I agree..the ride is really well judged.. smooth when you want it, but sporty enough on the twisties.. those seats though
Totally regretting speccing the sports seats.. Maybe my arse just isn't bmw shaped?

I have got used to the sports seats in the G30 now, and find them comfortable enough, but it's still very noticeable when I get out of the sports seats in the 2 series and back into the G30 that the G30 ones are much narrower at the rear of the base .

Dropped mine off today, just about 6k miles on it for her first oil change. While in the shop having the following items addressed:

1) Back-up camera does not work on occasion (TSB)
2) Coolant reservoirs empty (occurred once; TSB)
3) Sunroof/liner clunks just as it begins to close (no TSB)
4) Active kidney slats no longer functional, always open (no TSB)
5) HVAC issues - heat from footwell, while center vents are cool (TSB, plus others for inconsistent airflow from center vents)
6) Voluntary recall for fuel tank sensor

That sucks. Hope you'll get it sorted soon.

Centre vents might be cool if you've got them set to cool in the I drive.

Also what is TSB?

Nearly 2 months on mine and 1,300 miles - all absolutely perfect (touch wood). Still keep finding excuses to drive the car so it must be good!! Averaging 33mpg as well at the moment - not driving for economy either so really impressed with that!
