My understanding is that with the free version, you can't actually do anything. You have to buy the "full version" in order for it to work and update the car.

The other comment is correct in that you must pay to be able to use even the standard mode as I call it below.

Check out this website for a full list of coding options in the standard mode:
https://bimmercode.app/cars/g30/

Of course more options exist in the expert mode but you will need to be able to read German and BMW to some extent to understand what you are seeing.

Yep -- pissed me off when all I wanted to code was ASS and it let me get right up to the point where it writes to the module and then prompted me to pay to complete the coding. Pretty crappy in my opinion (bait & switch), but better than fighting with E-Sys for a simple change or paying for someone to do it over the Internet.

That's the demo mode for you to see the functions of the app. The car in demo mode is not even your car and you're not even connecting to your own car in demo mode

You must purchase the app to use it, as others said

it's definitely worth the $30 or so and I've had no problems with it on my F10 535, haven't messed around with "advanced" though.

Bait and switch?

The website states that you have to PURCHASE the app to check compatibility with your model.

The "free" version of the app only allows you to check the control modules that are "code-able" for your supported vehicle.

Dude, the MX+ costs more than Bimmercode. MX+ is useful if you want to run diagnostics; for actual coding with Bimmercode, it's MUCH faster using an OBD to LAN/LAN to phone adapter.

I know it was my fault for not reading the fine print, but at the time, I didn't see that the "free" app in the Play Store was completely limited to no coding at all. Read through the reviews, I'm obviously not the only one that was surprised. It's a marketing tactic that works, but I call it shady. Anyway, it did what I needed and I'm happy to have it in my "tool box".

I've coded Ambient lights many times with BimmerCode. No issues so far. What do you mean by "not synced"? Color wise or brightness wise?
