Looking at my car, an F11 535i with a slightly lower unladen weight than your 530e, (with a 50kg lower max. rear axle rating) and I have 96Y as the standard tyre, that would be a 100 XL as the optional tyre.
I'm a bit surprised BMW have fitted the lower rating on the 530e. |

530E is 97Y rear and 95Y front seems that is standard on the pre LCI but seems a 102y version back and front is now becoming standard.
Strange the F10 is a 96Y all around. Cant figure out what they have different rating front and rear for the G30. An update for those following along at home:
I brought the car in last week for multiple things, including the vibration. The tech noticed "a light vibration" and balanced all four wheels (road force) which has taken out 50% of it, maybe a bit more. It's still not as smooth as other cars I have driven, but as they stated it is now "fixed" I see no point in pushing it further with them. I'll get the usual "no problem found" and/or "they all do that" and I have better things to do with my time. And as a lease, I can just walk away and not worry about it. So, on one hand I feel a little foolish for not getting them balanced last year, but am glad that it's better.

Are you happy with it?
Did you get to see the wheels rotating, maybe its a similar issue to me with factory faulty wheels that are not centric. My new wheels arrive tomorrow with new MPS3 tyres will update you after installed. I'm not happy with the ride. Overall I am happy with the car, although now I have a rattle in the back from their last repair, the ride is not as smooth on the highway as it should be, but as I stated earlier, I don't expect them to be willing or able to fix it. Thinking back on this, I've had several cars with similar issues. My first E39 was super-sensitive to proper wheel balancing, and I had to get them rebalanced every 5K miles. My E46 had vibration issues. My F06 had issues. All of my service loaners or test drives have been in cars that were rock-solid smooth, so I know it's possible for them to make a car that doesn't shake. They're just not very consistent about it.

Sorry to hear your still not happy maybe try find a dealer who will fit brand new alloys and tyres to test it as that's how we figured out what my issue was..of course that was after balancing including road force twice, new tyres, alloy refurb and alignment were done... it all came down to non centric wheels!!
Regards noticing the wobble when balancing you don't see it as the safety cover is down, my guys spooled up the wheels with the cover off to see the wobble in every wheel. I sorted my issue today fitted new wheels with MPS3 tyres and car drives perfectly no instability or shaking etc. Super happy finally feels like I have a new car to play with. |
