Right. This is the first I've heard of it being used on the dash. The dash on my E39 M5 is leather, and I believe the optional leather dash on the F10 M5 and F8X M3/4 is also leather. I wonder if the new M cars will have Sensatec dashes as well. Makes sense as the leather on the dash is so thin and stretched tight, you probably can't tell the difference.
you probably cannot tell. I've heard from SA's that sensatec holds up better in the long-run as compared to leather.

I'd be a bit concerned about leather drying out on the dash facing the hot sun all day, year after year...

I'm interested to see if this sensatec dash is smooth or textured.
Yep. Leather dashes are sometimes a problem in Ferrari's in which they shrink and need to be tended to. Could happen to any Leather dash I would think.

Yes, there have been some reports of BMW's leather dashes not holding up. But after 15 years, my M5's dash looks brand new. I think a few things account for this. The leather is thin and does not have padding; I care for it regularly; and the car has always been garaged at home and work (when it was a DD). Looking at the leather on the dash, I am sure I could not tell if it was real or Senatec. I'll take the latter next time, as I avoided a full leather dash on my F80 because I didn't want to deal with two cars that needed the maintenance.

What is the latest on M550 SOP and ordering dates?

I wonder if the 540 and 550 will have the same residuals coming out of the gate like F10s do now?

You really get your BMWs cheap in the US. Even with the horrible USD price right now (which doesn't affect Americans) it looks really good. I guess the competitive market works in the US apart from Europe...

NICE! Looking into this now, but I'm guessing a well optioned M550i will be in the $85k range if you have some restraint. Easily high $90k if you go all out.

Looking at the pricing and ordering guides, I don't see the 664M wheels in black for the U.S. Does anyone know if black 664M will be an option?

I have seen some US Pre-Series management G30's with both titanium (21P/22F) and black (21R) 644M.

It's vinyl dashboard with stitching. I saw it in person and personally don't think it is worth the $500. Nothing like the 7 series leather dash. I ordered and stuck with there standard dash.
