[M550iG30GUY]

I have been patiently waiting for my car to arrive. Tracking it the whole time. Tracked it to the VPC where it's been for 2 weeks now. At first I thought it normal but it never arrived at the dealer. According to dealer and BMW NA customer service there is an issue with the car. The only thing they can tell me is there is some new OIL PAN RECALL. Dealer confirmed only that some M550i and 750i are affected. I haven't been able to get any more info. So very annoying but what can I do.

I'm in the same boat. Car was delivered but being held in port. All 550s built between June 26 and September 24 are not being delivered until this issue is resolved. The delivery stop order was sent out on October 2 and I haven't heard any updates. Frustrating...

Wow - that could mean lot of BMWs are impacted. The delivery stop order for the 550i was October 3. BMW should be more transparent as to what's happening here and when the cars will be released for delivery. Not knowing is even worse than bad news - at least we can plan accordingly. Keeping us in the dark on this is a bad customer experience and undermines brand loyalty in the long run.

My M550i was built during that time frame, I didn't have any delays.

I would be on the lookout for a notice then. The issue was likely found after early ones were delivered.

It's been released from VPC as of today. Should be arriving to my dealer tomorrow. I will send update with pics.

Same here...September 14th Production Date.

According to my CA, no holds, even though other M550's on the same boat do have a hold.

Spoke to Genius today. Ship arrived Friday, car received at the VPC today - with no holds.

i called dealer gave them my vin and they said they have nothing in their systems regarding a recall. where is everyone getting this info?

BMW North America told me the car was behind held at VPC for a OIL PAN RECALL. They did not give any specifics. I also got confirmation from my CA that it was being held at VPC for that same reason. No one was able to tell me what is being done to the car.

I am getting my car tomorrow finally.

Looks like you got the digital display - does it have the rings on the outside, or smooth? Some were saying newer m550s were getting the euro spec smooth digi dash

No rings. And instead of turning red in sport mode it turns white. Even at night.

I must say, a bit disappointed to not get the red dials in sport mode anymore. Oh well, every car I've had I turn the dimmer way down anyway and will mostly be using the HUD on this one.

Related to the thread topic, my car is currently on the assembly line and I'm assuming/hoping it will not encounter this delay since it's just now being built.

Honestly thought I would not like the new dials but they are very crisp and clear. Looks great in sport mode with the white dials. Unique in the bmw world. (My opinion)
