Awesome thanks for the update. That was a better idea than me trying to explain what they were and asking him to send me pics lol. I just bought them. $689 after tax. Let's see how this goes, when they come in.

I found these today… very tempted. Looks like right at under $800 shipped.

Adding a screenshot since the hyperlink won't paste over for some stupid reason

I guess the only thing I'd have to pay after is for coding?

The advantage a few of us see with the Chinese lights is that it is truly plug and play with no coding or re-pinning required.

That's a very good price for the real deal. Pretty much OEM at knock off prices. Definitely an expected trend.

I'm having a hard time committing. Looks soooo good but the Meisterschaft exhaust set me back a pretty penny.

Yeah, very good price for oem. Don’t think you’ll regret it- it’s one of the most cost effective cosmetic mods imho.

Alright guys, I was able to get the knock offs installed the other night. Attached are some pics. Overall, it took me almost 3 hrs. I will say much of that time was spent:
A.) trying to perfect the fit (this part is a little harder than I expected, not because of it being a knock off but because if you don't tighten the 3 bolts on the outers little by little, the gaps wont be even all around.)
B.) I lost a nut in the truck lid lol. I had to open and close the trunk like 15 times to get it to fall out. It was stuck between the metal layers.
C.) I'm an idiot and didnt use the adapter for the outer tails. I think I misunderstood what Guatam said about not needing the adapter for the outers, but if you do not connect it, only the outers will light up when the brakes are applied. Outers and inners work as they should for parking lights and turn signals, except for the brake lights. When I re-removed the lining and attached the adapter, the brake lights lit up across both the inners and outers.

Maybe I was rushing with excitement...in the process, I accidently broke one of those expanding plastic screw things that hold up the trunk liner. Might grab another from amazon but it seems secure still. I chipped a piece of the foam when trying to get the spare tire out, but glued that back together. Also, accidently broke two plastic connectors for the rain guard things. I was able to remove them from my old guards and attach them to the new ones. I also slightly scratched my paint when trying to remove the drive side outer tail. Will need to touch that up

Couple things about these tails. They do seem very high quality. Next to my OEM pre-LCI tails, they seem just as thick, rigid, etc...quality is about the same is basically what I'm trying to say. Tails fit great. There is no BMW etched into the sides, but we knew that. No codes fired, no lights lit up when I made the switch. There are these little round dots (see pic below) which I think is used when pouring the plastic into the mold to make the tails. I dont think the OEM has that, but I havent been able to find a LCI 5er to compare.
Cant really see it from a couple feet away, but I did want to mention it. I currently have one issue, but its specific to me. I think one of the wiring harnesses is messed up because one side's reverse light doesnt come on when in reverse. I swapped the harness to the other side and the other side did not turn on. I've reached out to the seller and requested a new harness. Other than that, I'm quite happy with the lights. Looks great! The OVERWHELMING red is now toned down, and I just absolutely love the amber turn signal strip. Looks so sleek! Wish NA Spec would come like this from the factory. This really fulfills what I wanted. I wasnt trying to really trick anyone into thinking this is a LCI, just wanted those amber turn signals and less red...this fulfills that perfectly. Would recommended to anyone on the fence.

BTW - I apologize for how disturbingly disgusting my car looks right now. It looks yellow, but the amount of salt and on/off snow we're getting in MD...there's really no point in washing it right now. I was going to wait to wash the car before post pics, but I know folks were interested in seeing it. Adding one pic with the turn signals lit, since this wouldn't let me add a video. I can send a video from to anyone interested, just let me know.

Thanks for posting this write-up and review. They look great! Nice job. My OEM LCI Euro's also have the dots for casting, but not nearly as many or pronounced. They are smaller and cleaner. That said, you won't even notice once you forget they are there. Here are a few pictures of mine. After seeing your pics and Gautam's, I do think the coloring is ever so slightly different. I think the OEM's have some transitions within the red to the black borders, but you would have to be a hawk to tell.

Congrats and welcome to the LCI Tail club!

PS - I have helped many people with install and questions, you are not the first to break clips. Easily sourced to replace.
PSS - I know none of go through car washes, but a touchless powerful one might help to see if there are any leaks. Open the trunk after going through. Your car could use it ;-)

This looks great and thanks for sharing. I am a little confused on the adapter. Can you clarify where it connects, was it inner or outer or both? Pics of adapter installed?

Thanks! And yeah, def need a wash. May do this after it rains all weekend starting tomorrow. Also thanks for confirming the little circle things in the plastic exist on the OEM tails.

The adapters connect to both the outers and inners. I didn't actually check what would happen if I didn't use it for the inners. For the outers, everything will still work as it should...however, the adapter for the outers connects to the inners somehow let's the inners light up during braking as well. Without using the adapter on the outers, the inners would work as they should except for the brake light.

The current harness and adapters are hidden under the trunk liners. The seller said they'll be shipping me a new harness. I'll take a pic when it comes in.

Yeah, that's what confused me at first and why I didn't initially use the adapter on the outers. Maybe we misunderstood what he meant?
