New Lease - LMK your thoughts..

Hey everyone!

I am coming up on my lease end and considering leasing a 2021 540i xdrive. I like the new styling but want to asks for your opinion on the following (let me know if you currently drive or have seen the following):

- M sport package
- Exterior Color: Phytonic Blue Metallic
- Interior Color: Ivory White
- Trim: Aluminum Rhombicle Smoke Grey
- Wheels: 19" M Y-spoke bi-color jet black wheels (all season)
- M sport brake with red calipers

Almost all of my previous cars have been black (ext and int) so I want to try something new (phytonic blue is my second favorite on this car, black would have been my first choice).

Let me know what y'all think!

Do you mind a slightly stuffed suspension with the M Sport package? Also that phytonic blue color is great I wish I had gotten it. Are you sure you don’t want any wood trim for the classic 5 series feel?

Good points!
I am ok with having the slightly stuffed suspension vs. the looks of the M package (currently drive a very stiff M3).

Can't go wrong with a wood trim, but a sportier look is what I am looking for.

I am still undecided on two things:

1) Pull the trigger on the Ivory interior (will be my first run with a light interior color, and not sure whether I will have issues with the dealer at lease end since the Ivory is known to leave jeans marks and such)

2) Having red brake calipers on a phytonic blue and ivory interior build

I would not go for the ivory interior if you'll be bothered by noticable wear.

the msport brakes are great, however the dust is off the charts. The bi color wheels help to hide it, but they still get filthy quickly.

Go for Premium package to get HK, power trunk, etc...

also consider shadow line option.

Thanks! Definitely going for the premium package.

The ivory interior dilemma is more of a "will the dealer be sticky about normal wear upon return" knowing that wear on ivory will be more evident.

Biggest issue is dye transfer. Be sure to wash new denim at least twice before it touches this leather. Also leather belts can be a problem.

I doubt dealer will ding you unless stains are large or dye transfer is really bad.

Dakota leather tends to clean up more easily than nappa.

Nanolex makes a really good leather sealant. To help reduce dye transfer and make clean up a bit easier.

You might want to explore using this or something similar to also treat your leather belts.

On the red calipers - I think they distract from the (amazing) paint job and the blues make it more steamlined. However, if you really want that sporty look, go with the reds.

I've been going back and forth on these two choice:

- Carbon Black ext, black int, and red calipers vs.
- Phytonic blue ext, ivory int, and blue calipers

I currently drive a black F80 M3 with blue calipers (red looks better on it in my opinion)... decisions decisions!

Picking up 2021 540x Phytonic Blue blue calipers and mocha interior Nov 6th at SC Performance Center ... tired of seeing and having blacks and greys all the time. But go with what your gut tells you regarding colors. You'll be the one enjoying it, not the rest of us.

Of those two, I'd choose the first option.

We've got a Tanzanite Blue 540i on order, but Carbon Black was my second choice. It's a great colour.

Solid choice. Our problem is that Tanzanite Blue isn't offered on the 540s in the US.

It isn't usually available in the UK either (unless you pay for it as an Individual colour), but they're currently offering an 'M Sport Edition' here, which comes in TB at no extra cost.

I'm surprised it isn't available in the US too. Maybe BMW are trying to make up for the fact that all the European spec cars are a tiny bit slower than their US counterparts?

Phytonic and Carbon Black are both great colours though. There's no wrong choice there.

Agree. TB is available on the M550s and M5s in the US though.

Dakota does clean up more easily BUT the Nappa is well worth the extra care.

In terms of comfort, styling, or both?
