Ambient lighting coding

Did anyone code new colors in their G30 using bimmercode? I watched bunch of f10/g20 videos people coding new colors but haven't been able to find anything for our G30. I specifically am looking for bumblebee/yello'ish color.

Looking for directions as in which module to go in and what values to change.

Any help would be appreciated

The ambient lighting is in the body domain controller.

This is the website I use to find things before plugging in to the car.
https://bimmercode.app/cars/g30/

Not sure if you can create custom colors in the expert mode so I'll leave that to the more advanced folks.

You can create custom colors but only under the 'bronze setting. The custom color you create in expert mode for each level (top of dash, bottom of dash, and foot well) will save to the bronze setting as the custom color. I tried looking for the YouTube video I saw it on but forgot to save it. I'll keep looking and update. 🤞🏾

Using basic mode you can only change the Bronze preset to one of the preset colours, to change the rest you'll need to use expert mode and to get custom colours you'll need to get the hex number and enter it into custom value

Yes you can code any color you like to any part of the Ambient Light in G30 by coding BDC ECU

BMWKLG

If you use BimmerCode "easy" mode; you can only change Bronze setting. If you go to expert mode you can change ALL presets as I did in my G30

You can see how it works in some of my videos that I've shared here before:

You can even add gradual change effect:

Search for Ambiente parameter under BDC and add RGB color codes manually for each LED part for each R,G, and B color as hexadecimal. It takes some time since there are a lot of parameters to update for each preset

Perspective

I'm coming from an e38. ALL G30's look like spaceships inside, to me!!

I've never owned a black car, nor one with a black interior. Here's what my new car seems like to me:

How do you enable the colour rotation? I have seen this elsewhere that it's only for the upper LED strip isn't it?

Also can anyone list out some good RGB combinations for some interesting colours?

It's easy just activate the HotSpot and WLAN related parameters in HU_NBT. You can even do it with BimmerCode Expert mode

I don't know if Apple supports screen mirroring but I don't think so.

For further info let's refer to my other topic to not

This is amazing. Which parameter to look for enabling the gradual change effect? I just found only the hex code for changing colors.

How do you enter those hex numbers into BimmerCode? When you go to edit the colour and enter custom value it only lets you add 2 numbers?

You enter 2 digit code for each color (Red, Green and Blue).

For an example color code: BF00FF you must enter the alphanumeric sequence for each LED separately such as:
for Red: BF
for Green: 00
for Blue: FF

Exactly as ejlover06 said. Furthermore, for G30 the color groups are seperated into 4 zones which are :

1.) GROUP_x_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_y_R(G)(B)
2.) AMBIENTE_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_x_LAYER_y_R(G)(B)
3.) AMBIENTE_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_x_LAYER_y_R(G)(B)
4.) AMBIENTE_FARBE_ENSEMBLE_x_LAYER_y_R(G)(B)

x in blue are the 11 selectable presets in our cars.

y in red are the specific part of the light.
1 = Upper Contour Line
2 = Lower Contour Line
3 = Foot Rest & Side Pockets
4 = Dome light (Lighting to a transmission console)

If you use Bimmercode with expert mode you will see them already sort down in the order. We need change only these 4 layers because our g30s have only 4 parts of the ambiente lights. No need to change for layer 5 and more. It means that you have to change 3x4=12 parameters (2 digits each) for one preset.

hope my answer will help.

Thanks for listing the parts since there were too many I was too lazy to find out which one is which

But as I remember rear lights are coded separately. I tried it once to code only contour lines and only fronts changed
