You know, for your friend. Before I bought the G30, I had a 750i and I drag raced a coworker on the way into work one morning. Cleaned his little Infiniti clock. LOL, he was surprised. Respect the Roundel. Sometimes you just have to let out your inner redneck.

I wonder how well these will age for long term ownership? As a DIY mechanic, the thought of lowering the engine to clean out the carbon deposits that will inevitably form on the back of the valves of this direct injection engine. The recent history of BMW valve cover gaskets failing (and requiring a new valve cover as the replacement option) not to mention the built in PCV, leaves me more than a bit concerned.
I’d love to pick up a cpo M550 as the depreciation is phenomenal on these larger sedans. Maybe I’ll luck into a nice lease instead, but it’s unlikely as most exec cars seem to be 530/540.

What are some of the nice to have options in a 2018 M550i. I am looking at one with driver assistance, driver assistance plus, executive, parking assistance, cold weather package.
It doesn't have the complete digital cluster and the massaging seats. |

Anyone having issues w the fuel gauge on the 2021 m550i xdrive? When i fill up w 93, this thing still shows under 300miles to a tank. It's really insane. Shouldn't be close to this low. Love the car otherwise, with two exceptions…
1. Charging bay can't fit an iphone max with protective case. That's a pretty bad oversight imho. 2. Cup holders are also on the small side, and are full circles, so you can't put phones in them. Very little storage in front console area as a result. |

- Wireless charger is more of a wireless toaster. I use a 12 Pro without the case, has plenty of room but still heats up the phone. This feature was taken out of 2022 models - I like the cup holders, fits all of the cups and Starbucks/Dunkin' cups for me. The 1 larger cup I have goes in the door cup holders that are larger. |

Man, i had a chuckle on that one. The first time i used 'wireless charging' on my 2020 M550, i thought my Samsung S10 was cooked! It was sooo freaking HOT i couldnt believe it. Never doing that again. USB works just as well, and is 2x faster. |

If you can find one the full leather dash option is nice and an Alcântara headliner looks really sweet. The massaging ventilated seats are nice to have but not a must. The seats do not get crazy cold but when it's warm outside you can feel your seat and back slightly cooler. The cold weather package is a nice one to have I love my heated steering wheel I live in Southern California where it never really gets that "cold" but it's nice to turn on - the steering wheel heats up quickly and it feels nice. Go look at a bunch of cars test drive several and you'll start to figure out what you want

Unless something bad happens (e.g., it gets sold out from under me b/c I'm in another state), I'll be signing paperwork on a CPO M550i this week.

did a lot of research a i was concerned about N63 (V8) engines, from 2018 on its been fine. However there was a engine TSB done to my 2018 before i bought it. Obviously if you 2021 you should be good to go.

The wireless charger is trash. For the road trip, I just brought a portable charger because it's easier. The one in the g30 is in an awful place and doesn't work well anyway. The cup holders are small. But I chalk that up to a compromise I can make to be in an import luxury sport sedan. I just bought a new 20oz coffee tumbler that fits and the cup holder still can hold a 12oz can of soda or bottle of water.

This thread makes me want a 550 to go with my 540. I have big time envy if the 550 owners… but the 540 is a damn dream. I might drive it until it's ready for the scrap yard.
