I think so.
I was just going to write a post contemplating whether the 550i would now be the M550i in the same way that the 760i is now the M760i. It seems only logical at this point. Maybe the top-of-the-range gasoline G20 model becomes the M340i too. |

Just wondering why one would go for the next 5-series rather than an E Class. There are also new A6/S6 coming soon. I think it will be tough for BMW - they should have made more of a leap with the G30 to compete with their German competitors. |

So for the G30, i think it's balanced between the F1* and G10. In other words it's discret, stylish and going to hold it's own well. Against the E, it's like always, each have theyr reknown strenght, but MB is pulling hard lately, good for the competition. :-) Having said that, allthough i really like the interiour language and layout BMW currently are using, i feel it's like the E39. It's matured and "done" and they need to make something different and new, fins a new direction, I wonder when though, perhaps with the new 6?

ynguldyn I wrote a thread a while back about the future of BMW's V8s. Do you know if the M550i still has one? I'd hate to see it go away

Great, thank you! Maybe they'll bump the power a bit?

Here's the final rendering based on the latest spy shot... There may be some errors because of camouflaged character lines and details, but I think it's pretty close. The G30 will definitely be a mix of 7 series and 3 series... Evolutionary design to say the least...
Before and after pics with animated gif. I've made bigger wheels and wider stance in the renderings as the car looks better this way .

any news about suspensions? I don't think air suspension will be standard as it is in the 7 series. I hope that's the case because I would like to order 5 series with sport suspension. I'm making comparison between my X4 with sport suspension and 7 series. In the 7 series in sport mode it is softer than the X4 which I like. I hope if there is 5 series with sport suspension to be something between the X4 and the new 7 in sport mode. The 7 is too floaty for my taste but good for my father

The front isn't flat like the f10 anymore, the bumper protrude a bit from under the grills. See pics in post #19 http://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1209958

I think it will look nice. What is up with all this E-Class talk? It looks like a...bigger C-Class. I'd rather have my mid-size model looking like the flagship than looking like the cheap-a** entry level model. Stop with the interior, too...the E-Class interior will be nice....but most of us don't buy cars based on what the interior looks like.
