I have this on my 5 series I had to get the switch from Europe.

Standardly they only come on with main lights or on locking and unlocking the car

The switch allows you to turn on and off as you please.

I first saw this on and all black X6 at night.

I know not every ones taste but I love it.

I think it looks better than the illuminated grill on the g60
Very rare, I’ve never seen one here in the U.K.

If you didn't have to drill a hole in your steering column to install the switch, I might be interested in this. At the end of the day, it is an actual BMW part/accessory and with the switch, you can shut it down if it's too much cheese for the squeeze.

I have the button installed in the middle console glove box
And turn it on when I want
It looks great and have gotten plenty of compliments on the look
