1 . After the cold catalytic warm up on start up, see if the exhaust is coming from both sides. The sound will literally and figuratively be twice as loud when driving or under throttle, IN ANY DRIVING MODE.

2. The car has to be put in Sport Mode, then while still running, get out of the car and pull the fuse.
I'll try it again, thank you.

By the way: the car is warm right now, in Comfort Mode, I can feel exhaust coming out of both sides, would this suggest the flaps are open?

Sounds like it. Try driving with windows open and give it throttle in Comfort and then Sport mode. Both flaps open is not going to be like open pipes, but it is clearly more rumble and sound.

Just noticed something, are you driving an G30 M550iX? If not, this fuse thing won't work.

I'm driving a G30 540i with the M-performance exhaust. Are you sure the fuse pull will NOT work for the 540i? I'd love to find a similar solution.

If you take a flashlight and look up the exhaust pipe, you can see if the valve is open or closed. If you pulled the fuse with the car in sport mode and it worked, the valves will be open with the engine off.

Hi all!

Couldnt all this be solved by just buy an Exhaust Meister KIT..?
I did this on my M6 GC and it worked perfect, open/close asyou wish..
When I put on my Eisenmann Race mufflers with valves it worked perfectly also on this....
Considering trading in/selling the M6 and going with the M550, I will then just take the Exhaust Meister off the M6 and use it on the M550...as long as your car has a vacum system this would work with the OEM exhaust and aftermarked exhaust with valves.

Yes, but taking 60 seconds and pulling a single fuse is cheaper and faster.

I coded my flaps open lastnight for all modes. Was going to turn ASD off but I actually like it when in sport mode

Are you driving a G30 5 series and coded the flaps open? The ability to control flaps does not appear to show up as an option for the G30.

Yes, I sat behind the car and opened them up and closed with the app. Opens passenger side first then driver within 5 seconds
I can send screen shot later

Do you have a beta version of the app? That capability does not appear on options for the G30.

Me too, but no flap control for a G30 (M550iX) visible. If you go to setting/cars, and click on G30, which option has the flaps control?

The app you showed earlier is BimmerCode, which I have and does not control the flaps. This latest one you just posted is BimmerLink, a different app.

Does the BimmerLink app let you make the flap changes on the fly, without the OBD adapter in place?

I just set them open
I leave the adapter in as it doesn't use much or any of battery. But they stay open even when it's not connected I'm pretty sure

so this is an awesome "mod" with a non-modified exhaust, but I had my resonators removed (will post clips) and in comfort mode the car was too noisy for my liking, plus the cold starts were WAY too loud. Put the fuse back in, in comfort the car is quiet and in sport all hell breaks loose.

Is it possible to just unplug the electronic flap connector?

In my old F30, turn the car on -> put into sport + -> turn car off.
Flaps are still open, then go to underside and pull out the plug on the valve and ziptie.
