Dinan or DME or JB4 or bootmod3 or RK?!?!?

I know there are a lot of people here that have much more experience with tunes and companies over the years.

I'm trying to decide which tune would be best for my car (M550i) and for my use. This is a daily driver, and will never go to the track. I do have a dragy and like to play around with that from time to time. I also take this car on long trips with my wife (8-10 hours per day), so it must be 100% reliable.

I've done piggy-back installs before on my 2015 535d and my 2013 535ix and they seemed to work pretty well. However, they are a pain to remove if needed for dealer service, etc. (except the Dinan, of course).

Pricing for my car:

Dinan - $1,699
DME - $1,499
JB4 - $599
RK Tunes - $800ish
bootMod3 - $895 (guessing, not released yet)

I'm looking for the most consistent, easy to use and drive, Stage1 (with the option to go to Stage2 in the future). I'd like to hear any advice or suggestions.

BM3 imo is the best bang for buck, DME/RK would be second best. I already had the jb4 and i mostly use that to push the boundaries and log with DME flash. I can use race gas and bump the boost right away with jb4 so thats where it comes in handy. If BM3 was available before i woud've gone for that but all tunes are more or less the same so it doesn't bother me much.

I went RK. Search for my thread. Amazing results - feels like a whole different car entirely.

How's your experience been with RK? Any issues with it? I'm debating if I should wait for BM3 or just pull a trigger on RK...

If you are interested in giving RaceChip GTS Black a shot, let me know.
I have sold a few locally and a lot to F90 M5 owners and other BMW's.

I looked and researched the RaceChip unit. Their website shows +85hp gain from BMW's claimed stock number, which we already know is way too low.

Another person that had the unit claimed he finally got a tech at RaceChip to tell him exactly what they were doing, and he was told "adding 2.9psi to the boost". That's it.

Does anyone have REAL dyno numbers (with RaceChip turned off, and then on)??

I tried.
But the dyno shop is not doing it correctly and still charged me for the session.
Based on the past experience, it is very hard to communicate with them. Because they are more known than my shop, but treating me like a direct competitor.

Stock is about 11-12 psi in sport mode. 2psi less in comfort

Thanks! That's good to know.

I saw some information on threads and forums about how these turbos were tested and were pretty solid. I think the choke point for them were around 25-26 PSI. It was handling PSI from 18-22 easily.

I wonder what limits others have pushed it too

JB4 is the best option at this time for your car, we offer it with 14 days money back guarantee if you wish to give it a try

So I ordered the JB4... should be here this week. I will try and post some dragy reports for my otherwise completely stock car (1,100 miles).

Sweet. I’m still breaking in my car for a bit longer before any tuning, but looking forward to hearing how you like it

Bootmod3 is the best option for Fxx series and will be for Gxx series as well.

Tuners like F80Paul and Juan@BigBoost_Turbo already cracked E85 and Full E85 on their B58 cars.

Big things for M550

Do you know when it will be released for m550??

Do you know any numbers for BM3 as far as expected PSI gained, horsepower gain, 0-60 and 1/4 mile time?

Can't give you any info on something that hasn't been released

But judging from past releases, the OTS maps usually are on par if not usually better than most generic tunes that include no datalogging tool.
