So I am coming from a F10 5353i. I thought the G30 M550i should work in a similar fashion and just be newer and better.

First thing. I hate the auto start/stop feature and I always disable it. On the F10, you hit the button under the start button to disable its and as long as you dont change driving modes, it stays that way. On the G30...it seems to get re-enabled when I turn the car off, or sometimes it stays off for a day or so and then im at a light and I feel it turn off again. Is that normal?

The next thing is the self parking feature. When I turn it on, the feature on the screen is unchecked. I check and turn it on, but it never finds parking spaces. I got it to work randomly one day, but not since then. This is parallel parking, never could get the perpendicular parking to work at all. Am I doing something wrong here?

Last thing...strange ticking from the front of the car while it's running. It's got a random clicking from the front of the car, engine area. I hear it intermittently when it's idling.

It's got a full factory warranty for 3 months, maybe I should drop it off and have these things looked at. Car has 31K miles on it.

On the F10 ASS, it had to be coded. F10 behaves the same way normally. You can code the G30 to remember last setting.

Really? Maybe I got lucky and the 2016 535i M Sport I had was coded as it remembered ASS setting unless I changed driving modes. Maybe I will just live with it. lol.

Just becomes muscle memory to turn it off
A popular alternative is to configure sport individual as you like. The advantage of any of the sport modes including individual is ASS will always be off.

It was definitely coded. I had the F10 and that was the first thing I did. I had a 2012 and BMW has only made it worse. Get BimmerCode, you will be able to code this out in 30 seconds and make some other cool changes, including making the car start in Sport Individual.

interesting. I've had my 17' 540i two weeks now and I forgot it even had ASS. previous owner must have had it coded because I haven't done anything and it's never happened in any drive mode

This is how it has become with me. But if/when I do code things in, that will be the first thing I do.
