Chicago Winter Meetup
OK, so I have heard from a few other Chicago area F8x owners on this forum that there is interest in meeting up in the Chicago area. I am posting to see the best date that works for everyone in the near future but I am open to suggestions on where to meet.
I am open to other opinions, but I think it would be nice if we met downtown (or close to downtown) and took a drive together and then end in downtown. Cruising up/down Lake Shore and Michigan Ave. seem like a must to do at some point on the path. I know there are a lot of variables, but let the forum know if morning or afternoon work best. Possible starting locations include: 1) Near the U. of Chicago Gleacher Center roundabout downtown 2) Montrose Beach area 3) Diversey driving range parking lot 4) Soldier field (not sure if it is open) 5) Shedd Aquarium 6) North/Clybourne Best Buy Parking lot |

Bump
Thought there would have been a bit more interest in a winter meet-up after reading comments in the Chicago owners thread. Perhaps the 19'' of snow was a deterrent or maybe not as many people have snow tires on. Either way, if people can comment on why they aren't interested or perhaps an alternative date in March / April then please let me know. Thanks. |

Im still a newb, but i had all the basic stuff done. Its fairly easy, as long as you have the ENET cord and read the tutorials found on this forum or youtube. There is a cheatsheet on what you can code on the f8x under DIY and coding.

Well, after a few weeks to garner interest, it looks like about 4 of us have communicated interest: tareema, eff 80, eff 80's +1, and myself.
Eff 80 has offered to show off his amazing coding skills and tareema has indicated the Shedd as a good place to begin. To be honest, I thought there would be a few more takers in the downtown area. Perhaps the snow storm swayed their opinion. In order to give the others some more time to wait the snow out and ponder about taking their garage queen out, I propose we shoot for March 1st at the Shedd Aquarium around 10am, weather permitting. Thoughts? |

So far we have: Saturday, February 21st @ 10am @ Shedd Aquarium Any ideas where to drive assuming LSD and Mich ave are musts? Possibly 4-5 cars have responded. I have also posted in the E9X forum so some others might join but I haven't really heard anything yet. |

Hey sorry. I'm interested too. I just got back from a needed vacation so wasn't online at all.
I thought Shedd they don't let you group cars there easily anymore. They give tickets for people that stop around there. Always lower Wacker by tow yard. Tons of space and covered. Ps. No snow tires here |

If those options don't seem plausible, lower lower Wacker is a good idea. I will be rockin' the OEM winter setup in case anyone is interested in how they look.
