The F10 was generally speaking a good looking 5 series but the front and rear end look chubby and absolutely disliked the cheap looking hood line well above the grille. That's ok on a Mazda 3 not a $50K+ luxury sedan. Love the sleeker side profile of the G30. The interior of the G30 is leagues above any F10 as well. The G30 is a cut above the F10 and E60 before it.

+4 (obviously personal preference)
E39 was a good looker , particularly the msport versions , still looks good to me today. Never warmed to the e60 (so never bought one) but over time have disliked it less. F10 I thought was good looking but never felt the front was quite right. G30 I think is better and about as good as it can be. Client well grills look like they are marginally bigger , still acceptable but bmw don't any bigger! Headlights borrowed from the vw golf, not keen as regards what we have seen to date but I'll reserved my full comment when it gets released next year. I wonder what the 5next will look like in 2023/4 ....... |

Because BMWUSA would rather sell you a 745e at an even higher profit margin.

Rumor has it the renders are getting pretty accurate. Slightly higher/bigger kidneys, new DRLs and where the the bumper meet the headlights.

Not too bad at all - mercifully, it has been spared the same treatment as the 7

I think that scrapes through as ok but to be honest its fine as it is today.
It does look like a skoda / <insert name of many others cars here> so not so distinctive. When BMW introduced the "angel eyes " on the E39 LCI (think I'm right in saying that was the first car to get these?) they made a very distinctive look to the make and for a while you knew you had a Beemer behind you at night. these days, it could be just about anything. I cringe at what the next 5 may look like.Perhaps might be the last combustion ones, but that's another topic. |

I've recalled this exact same photo appeared in the US News automotive section/article in June 2018. That article talked about the new 2018 BMW 5 series "what you need to know", at that time (2018) pre-LCI. Needless to say, this is an airbrushed photo.

Did he mean model year 2021? They'll begin taking orders for those in July with delivery in August-September.
