Just installed my Racechip and went for a quick ride. There is definitely a difference even just from the "seat of pants" feeling. I will try and do some Draggy tests and see how it performs with the Racechip in different modes and even completely off.

That calculator was created in 2004, when automatic transmissions were SLOW. Our current automatics are almost the same speed as the dual-clutch on the website.
I've had my car on corner weights while setting the geometry. 1880kg / 4130lbs. Mine has no heavy options mind (e.g. sunroof)

Interesting.

Does yours have DHP? I think I read it’s about 70kg?

And any idea what the sunroof weighs?

No DHP or rear steering (I have M5 sway bars)

That was with forged wheels and non run flat tyres also.

Right Off the production line with no fluids, i think the lightest an M550i could ever be is 1830kg

Fully optioned up with fuel, oil and wiper fluid, most will be rolling at ~1950-2000kg

...
Forged wheels? That's impressive! Have you ever measured how much of a difference they make for acceleration and braking?

It's not possible for me to tell untill I can get the TCU torque limiter out of the way. XHP should be doing the LCI M550i this year (I hope)

I weighed my car with 1/4 tank of fuel, tools, tyre inflation kit and nothing else at the drags the other week and is 1920kg, so figure 1970kg with a full tank. No DHP so the 1800kg must be without any fluids.

Mines been on calibrated corner weights. 1908kg with about a 3rd of a tank, tools and kids isofix seats. I took all the stuff out after and put them on parcel scales - 40kg. So I was looking at 1870kg. This is with forged lightweight wheels and a lighter exhaust. Weight bridges tend to round up to the nearest 20kg so I would say your numbers look about right.

Thanks.

When I go next I’ll see how big the increments are. It was at the drags so maybe they are more accurate than a typical weighbridge.

I wish I would have weighed the secondary cats, opfs and suitcase resonator while they were off. I expect that lot was 25kgs worth of hardware

oooh Did a 11.44@121mph quarter last night. All stock. +680ft DA. There's an 11.3 hiding in negative DA I dare say.
