I have a rattle from the overhead light/rearview mirror area. Has anyone else experienced this or know how to disassemble the unit?

I think I'd take it back to the dealer if it was mine tbh.. its a new car and they should fix it for you for free.

In my experience giving a job like that to the dealer only makes it worse. I'd rather tackle it myself.

I once had a dashboard hacked to pieces when I casually asked if one of the bulbs behind the dash could be replaced when it was in for a service

Must admit, I would never try to fix any problem myself on a BMW. Two reasons:

- I'm useless at fixing problems
- Warranty

I would insist it's fixed quickly and completely, no fuss.

I kept going back to my dealer on my current car to sort out a rattle for more than a year. They replaced every plastic piece around the dash until one mechanic figured out that the door panels needed tightening.
