Scammed For $1000 (Gonewiththewind)
Got scammed and can't my money back. Gonewiththewind posted ohlin coilivers for f30 335i for $1400 he told me $1000 if I sent money by zelle/quick pay because his PayPal funds were on hold. I fell for it. Deal was too good to be true.. seemed like a nice guy but I was wrong. I think windwhisperer is his account too.. I found out he never shipped an inter cooler to someone after I paid him @ Windwhisper7732@gmail.com now I'm out $1000 and he's not replying back to me at all. And I think he is using a text free app # 213-285-0577 because he sent me. A screenshot of his money on hold on PayPal and it was an iPhone screenshot. Has anyone dealt with him before?

unfortunate that it happened.
don't know why anyone ever sends someone money through zelle, applepay, venmo, etc. 0 protection and well known that scammers use it for that exact reason. Paypal/credit card/in person (so you can find them if they suck) or no deal. And paypal doesnt generally withhold or block anything unless there is identity theft, issues with ebay sales/transactions, or some other fraud which should have been a red flag when he told you that. You can move thousands of dollars through paypal no issue without a problem arising, and even if they do say something, they just have you verify it and your account is fine.

This is why I always use a credit card. It's easier to despite a charge on the card if something like this happens. |

Paypal 😕 He asked me to use the “friends/family” option... which should have been the red flag 🚩.
He even sent me a tracking number after I asked for one. But it’s been in the “awaiting drop off “ status for two days. Now that I saw your post... I dug a little deeper. Here’s the pics he sent me of the cargo cover: https://m.imgur.com/a/AdWi7k9#tsrAHbe AND here’s what a reverse image search came up with: New Jersey! https://offerup.com/item/detail/805794447/ Welp there goes $250. Is there an admin or mod on these forums? |

I would like to find out his name and address. I'd have a buddy come over to his house.
He just posted a bm3 tune/license for sale 15 minutes ago. Can a moderator do something before he scams other people!! |

What a joke. Sorry you were burned by this guy. In addition to the BM3 license he had listed, and apparently sold, he has posted an msport steering wheel for sale. I posted a warning on that listing

He got me for $265 Paypal F&F for an Intercooler. I am sure this thread is amusing to him but if he is reading it, I hope he finds a better path and a way to make an honest living. For all of the effort in doing this he probably could have made just as much in a boring IT job and not risk the chance of getting stabbed to death by one of his victms.

If you read his posts he is making up all kinds of supposedly personal information in to gain people's trust. Don't waste time feeling sorry for this guy or thinking that karma will somehow catch up with him. All indications are that this guy is a con artist, a grifter, a compulsive liar, a sociopath. This guy lives his life scamming people and laughs at them thinking they are stupid for believing him. He has no conscience. Nothing stops this guy from doing this every single day, except for days that he's behind bars! Any attorneys, private investigators, IT guys, FBI agents on here. Gotta be very easy to trace this guy. He's already scammed enough $ for it to be a felony. Also assuming it's a federal crime since he's doing this across state lines. |
