I'll try to get some pictures in daylight today (swamped with work - wish I could drive around right now ). I'm absolutely in love with it and the color is just amazing (and looks different in pictures, it feels a bit more "matte" in real life - hard to desribe, but a great fit for the car).

Alright, second to last delivery update. She officially made it to the dealership this morning! Just in time for a blizzard. So, I likely won't get her until Friday night or Saturday AM depending on work and the road situation up here in NY.

Waiting on some torment pictures from my dealer to see her in the steel for the first time.

I think they must time the arrivals at the dealership for inconvenience. Our car arrived just as our sales rep had planned a few days off!

Glad the wait is almost over for some of you though. I’m sure it’ll be worth it.

Hah do they make you take delivery with your sales rep. While I think the guy I'm working with is great, I wouldn't give two shits if it was someone else!! 😄

Seriously, he's still getting credit for the sale.

We didn’t mind who it was either, but our sales rep seemed to want to hand it over. She had been helpful in getting us quite a good deal on our car so we didn’t mind too much.

Our wait was seven months from order to delivery because of Coronavirus, so the extra few days didn’t make a lot of difference!

I would understand that, within reason. If they weren't in on a Saturday when my schedule allowed, I'd push and say don't care I need the car then. Otherwise why not go in and celebrate and enjoy it a bit with the person you hounded for pricing and options for a few months haha.

I was enough of a pain, and they gave me enough of a deal, I've got two bottles of Veuve wrapped up to bring my sales guy (the sales manager) and the finance manager who's done all my paperwork so quickly as a holiday thank you. I'm honestly looking forward to that, because I'm going to want the day to be special for me and to share that with the humans who hooked me up with the deal.

That's a nice touch, I'm sure they'll appreciate that.

Haha! Same here.

I'm taking my guy some Glenmorangie 15yr. I feel bad for the guy. Took me 6 months to pull the trigger and he was very patient!

Hahaha, sounds like you've got even more guilt than I do, buying a bottle of scotch. God I love that there's a place on the internet for us insane folks to congregate.

Hah you guys are wild. I spent like less than 15 minutes in the dealership. Test drove without the sales guy. And emailed what i wanted later and ordered the next day. Maybe that's why I don't feel particularly close to the process.

If anything ... I feel like I should buy this guy a drink. I see him every f'n day:

It's here, it's here, it's finally here! After many long weeks waiting for my Christmas present, I finally was able to take delivery this afternoon. Woke up bright and early, and got on the road around 8:45am for the 2-2.5 hour drive to the dealership (worth the trek for the price), where when I arrived the car was waiting out front, still completely as-is from the delivery truck, and exactly how I wanted it and imagined it.

Quick, painless process with a brand new dealer, which was a pleasant surprise. In my experience, starting fresh with a new dealer is usually fraught with hiccups and little issues. This time, everything was sorted (even ensuring my state's stickler of a DMV was satisfied with every little detail) by Thursday afternoon. So, today was as simple as coming in to read the contract in person and confirm "yup, it's correct" and then sign.

To put it into perspective, I requested that no one basically touch the car for any real reason other than to move it from the truck to inside. They fully honored this, going so far as to wait and ask if I wanted to drive them to fill the tank (which they paid for), or if I was comfortable with them driving it 2 blocks to fill it up. (I of course took the excuse to start driving it immediately and rode along). Got the joy of peeling every single sticker off myself and truly "unwrapping" my newest joy. Can't tell you how nice it is when a dealership respects your wishes and makes the purchase process actually fun.

Long-winded rant over. Basically, car showed up, was exactly what I wanted and built, and looked better than I could have hoped in person.

Already installed my Weathertech liners and did some quick coding to mess around, because I really can't leave well enough alone. But the Alpina start screen and gauge cluster go nicely with my blue ambient lighting and TBII paint haha.

After 282 miles of driving around today (couldn't get myself to get out of the car), that's a wrap! Tomorrow will be installing my dash cam, maybe my Uniden R7, pulling the exhaust valve fuse, and probably the red start button. Likely will wait to do the red paddle shifters until later in the week. Then, tints and detail/ceramic coating, then miles and miles of enjoyment!

Timeline so far:

Nice man the car looks great and finally glad your wait is over!! What are your first impressions driving it? Will be interested in what other mods you do and if you feel fuse being pulled makes any difference (in sound).

Nice man the car looks great and finally glad your wait is over!! What are your first impressions driving it? Will be interested in what other mods you do and if you feel fuse being pulled makes any difference (in sound).
Overall first impressions are incredibly positive. Haven't spent enough time dialing in my seating position and mirrors etc. but my initial comfortable position was much more upright than my 440, which seemed peculiar.

But, highway pull was insane, has some nice burbles and pops in sport plus mode, and the interior is just miles and miles better than my old F32 440. The wife is very pleased with it, and has already expressed interest in driving it - which is huge because she hated trying to drive the old car. Maybe it's still the honeymoon period, but I'm very firmly in love with the car already.

Currently planned total mod/tweaks list:
- WeatherTech liners front back and trunk
- autotechnic red paddle shifters
- AT red ignition button
- Blendmounted R7 install moved to m550
- Dash cam install moved to m550
- IND painted front reflectors (done during detail and ceramic coating
- Xpel ceramic tint on all glass
- Pull exhaust fuse
- Summer 2021 - cut resonators out and put in straight piping.
- maybe shifting to StopTech pads for brake dust limiting eventually. Read a few posts about them on here

Am also now exploring the options for front mounting my license plate. Normally my NY dealers drill the bumper before delivery, but this PA one took my "don't touch" directions quite literally so I have an unmolested bumper. Have some time waiting for my dmv docs to transfer while on temp tags. But very interested in exploring options here that don't ruin parking sensors or cruise control functionality.

hoyas490 Beautiful car. Congrats!

I am dreading putting front license plate on. I like the look of the car without the front plate so much more.
