I keep saying I like it. I’ve been thinking more about it. I think I like it because I don’t hate it and I felt like there was a good chance I’d hate it.

I think it’s a little boring. I like the hood. Everything else is just kind there and non offensive.

The G30 is a much better looking car.

It has to be quicker. Even though the i5 M60 horsepower numbers are impressive, 0-60 is 3.7 which is slower than the current M550.

Personally I am disappointed it has grown in size. I know that was inevitable but the G30 seems plenty big enough from my perspective.

This a perfect example of how the reveal process works. It starts with base conservative configurations and then the more aggressive configurations start to appear. These pics are growing on me. I've been around the block too many times to be so naive that the first shots released are the decision factor.

When I see an M560e blow by me on the road on 21's with an M bumper and a larger spoiler, I will probably have a different perspective.

“The New BMW 5 Series, not as bad as it could be, you will like it over time.”

Across all the videos and comments on the new 5, I have seen, the consensus is not positive. Many people say, “it could be worse”, meaning it is not as bad as the new M2, 7 series and XM. That should be BMW’s new ad slogan.

Almost every G30 owner has said the new 5 makes them appreciate their car even more now.

I watched a video with BMW’s Head of Design, Domagoj Dukec, which I found somewhat arrogant. He said the goal was to take the 5 series away from its traditional German design to be more Italian. I don’t see it or get it. Why make a German car more Italian? Italy must be where they plan on selling these. To me, it looks like a larger 2 series with an even uglier grill.

I guess BMW’s marketing and design group has information that is causing them to move far away from their traditional loyal buyers and satisfy a completely new customer base.

Sure, over time, car designs can become more acceptable. Given that these cars are now priced into the stratosphere, it is going to be very hard for me to spend good money on something that is not as bad as it could be.

We are in the era of self-destruction. We are witnessing it with Bud Light, Fox News, Disney, automakers going 100% all-in on high dollar EVs most people cannot afford and the BMW design studio.

Unless the upcoming more aggressive configurations have a better looking grill, I don't think I can accept this as my next car.

LMK when you join the P-Car club. Im really enjoying the Panny. The only grip is have is the trunk. I can barely fit my golf bag and a fold up push cart in it.

this and the bigger sunroof are a couple of the things that I do like. can use voice commands to control the car.
