Aftermarket wheels / tires at service
I happen to have both the original 20 inch wheels with RFTs, as well as a set of 18 inch wheels I bought separately which I just swapped to non-RFTs. The 18 inch wheels happen to be BMW Style 634 which comes stock with some G30s I believe. This is what is currently installed. The tire specs match one of the possible entries in the iDrive tire selection menu (245/45/18 Y-rated).
My question: I’m coming up for my first regular service. Do I need to switch back to the 20 inch wheels? I can do swaps myself at home, but would rather be lazy if possible. But this is a lease and I don’t want BMW flagging me for having something out of spec. Thanks! |

BMW won't care what wheels and tires are on your car until it's time to turn it in at the end of your lease. It's very common to pull the new wheels and tires off the car and save them to avoid additional charges when the lease ends.
