Survey finds BMW drivers have more sex
Porsche drivers bottom of scale, German magazine says

BMW drivers have sex on average 2.2 times each week, according to a German magazine.

Updated: 12:46 p.m. ET May 03, 2004BERLIN - BMW drivers have more sex than owners of any other cars and are much more active than Porsche drivers, a new German car magazine has found.

The German magazine “Men’s Car” found in a survey of 2,253 motorists aged 20 to 50 published in its inaugural May issue that male BMW drivers say they have sex on average 2.2 times each week while Porsche drivers have sex 1.4 times per week.

Following BMW drivers were Audi (2.1), Volkswagen (1.9), Ford (1.7) and Mercedes (1.6). Drivers of foreign car makes were also behind BMW with Italian cars (2.0), French (1.9), Japanese (1.8), Swedish (1.6) and Korean cars (1.5) trailing after.

Among women, French car drivers were top with 2.1 times per week followed by Audi (2.0), Italian (2.0), and BMW (1.9) with Porsche again at the bottom of the scale at 1.2 times per week.

I stumbled across this while trying to find the gender demographics of the 3 series. I told my friend that his 05 Volvo S40 has one of the industries highest. I know the article is 4 years old but its still funny!! They should do this survey again. Not like there is any wrong with my game...lol Anyhow,he is positive the 3 series have more female drivers. A while back I was listening to the radio and it said that male BMW drivers were more likely to be Unfaithful, and Female Audi Drivers were also more likely to be Unfaithful.

Going back to the original thread I would have to say, IT IS IN FACT TRUE..... Since, I sold my e46 back in November It has been very scarce around here!!!

Surname raises a critical point: was the study age adjusted? That's a pretty basic question in study design.
A significant confounding effect is introduced to a wide number of variables as a result of age. In this instance, a simple explanation could be that BMW drivers tend to be younger and therefore are having more sex. You could even argue the whole point of buying a 3series is to get laid. Porsche being a more expensive car on the whole, maybe purchased later in life, when you hate you kids and don't want to leave them shit and decide to blow a big wad on a 911 Turbo. Because it will make you feel like you did when you got that new 325 and were laying pipe in every men's room in every bar in town. This could easily impact what is, in all honesty, not a very significant difference.

Yes, a valid point indeed, but how many young Italian car owners do you know of?!? The Italian car owner average was right up there. They are not something many "young" people can afford. So the car has to have something to do with it.

If you look at the data critically, everyone's getting laid twice a week, regardless of what you drive or where you live. The difference in the groups is insignificant (I haven't had one tenth of a lay since high school). And they don't give you the standard error or standard deviation.
Why Porsche owners are off is interesting, but I'm betting it's a problem of study design rather than a genuine finding.

Don't they need to limit the sample to BMW owners who don't have sex with other BMW owners 'cause wouldn't there be some sort of double counting going on? There could be some correlation between sex between BMW owners and the number of times they have sex. This would definitely lead to an obvious bias for the results of this survey.
