The BMW Genius gave me the Bill of Lading number for the ship and voyage for my vehicle. I entered the Bill of Lading number on the W & W Track and Trace web page and was able to find my VIN (on page 4 of the results for that voyage). I clicked on my VIN and I then clicked the Timeline link. On that page, I see exactly where the ship is and the dates for each stop on the way. So, BMW Genius does have the Bill of Lading number for your vehicle if it is on a ship. My 540i xDrive sat at port from May 26th through June 4th. It was placed on the ship FREEDOM on June 5th and is due in Baltimore, MD on June 19th.

Thanks for the awesome guide! I had a question, is it common for a custom order to show as new inventory on the dealer's website? I have a vehicle inquiry form that states the vehicle is "customer sold" to me but I see it as new available (albeit in transit) inventory on the dealer's site. When I emailed the sales associate I was working with he said the vehicle is reserved to me and can't be solved but it also can't be removed from the web site. Is there something shady here or am I overreacting?

I did put down the deposit but it's a lease so no sales agreement that I know of. I do have emails from the dealer confirming that I am approved for the lease along with quotes including residual and MF. The VIR shows customer sold with me as the customer. I called the genius line yesterday and they confirmed it is customer sold with my name attached to it. I think it's just the wait that's driving me crazy...

My CA just sent me a final VIR to sign off on before my configuration locks (indiv order, so I have the early "Indiv Blk Date").
The VIR has all the added packages/options/selections we discussed. It also lists a number of Standard options, but not all of them. Is this normal? I would have expected either all or none of them to be listed. Seems odd that they'd go to the trouble of listing out TPMS and Add'l 12V Sockets but then not show M Sport Brakes, Moonroof, ICON headlights, etc. Roughly half the standard features are missing from the VIR with not particular rhyme or reason that I can tell. I will of course ask my CA in the morning but want to get a sense from here on how much I should be worried (or not). |

His guess as to why some are shown and not others was interesting: "the ones that are listed they may feel is options on a possible competitors comparable model" |

Hi,
I ordered a car in the UK and the dealer gave me a 7 digit UK order number and a AG order number, also 7 digit. Is any of these enough to track the car production? And for a UK order, in which website? (I only found one regarding USA orders). Thanks in advance for your help! |

Just curious for those who've ordered late '18/early '19: has the process gotten better/worse than as described here? Is the MyBMW site still typically 1-2 days behind? Will the BMW Genius give you status codes, or not, etc?
My scheduled production week is 16, 4/15. I understand this means the week it should finished. Based on that, I should expect to see it start production any day now, correct?
