Thoughts on the "Best Suspension for the Money" on the new G30
All,
If you were purchasing a new g30!540i and had to choose between the MSport package/Suspension and the adaptive suspension package, what would you choose? If money is not an issue, you, of course, could get both packages. I Love the m steering wheel and Msport rims but don't want to pass on the adaptive drive, which seems very impressive. Possibly the "secret sauce " of the g30s ride. I look forward to driving both but thought others might have comments. |

I had DHP on my 2011 550i. On my 2014 550i and my 2017 540i x in production right now I went with the M Sport with the 704 M Sport Suspension. I thought that the DHP was too floaty as a base suspension. The best way to tell is to test drive both.

Well I had e91 in Mpacket. I know I can't compare 3 vs 5 especially the G30 but I am 80 percent city driver so the Mpacket was nightmare for me.(yes 5er is nonsense for city too but I like it)
I have ordered the g30 with Mpacket with DDC. This option will remove your M suspension. I exactly dunno what is it if a bit upgraded standard or a bit upgraded m susp. In saloon they said that in comfort setting it has something like basic one but more comfortable and in sport it has settings like M susp but its not -1,5cm lower as M susp. By the way do you know how is that here ? And there is "best" adaptive susp in options also expensive which I didn't get what is better in comp to DDC... So I hope I didn't do a mistake and also would be grateful for any explanation.. |

I think I would order the car with Adaptive Suspension and with non M Sport steering wheel and chose non run flat tires .
I had driven a G11 with run flat tires , the ride wasn't as smooth on rough roads as thought would be when I opted the Sport Mode

Regardless, when you have DDC you can't have M Sport Suspension, so can't get both packages when you buy an M Sport G30. They can't co-exist. My answer would be to get the adaptive suspension, without a doubt...

Is there big difference Adaptive susp vs ordering Mpacket then take DDC (which cancels your M susp) ? I didnt get it at all.
Msups is standard with Mpacket DDC is for about 740 EUR Adaptive drive with absorbers regulation for about 3000 EUR The adaptive one should minimalize tiltle in curve + it has more options in settings.. Thats all? |
