Pre-LCI ambient lighting

I was going through the color options on my 2019 540i and tried "bronze," the 1st option in the iDrive. When I select bronze I get blue but if I select white/bronze I get the bronze lower. I assume (yeah, I know) that this is a problem that I will have to take up with my dealer at my next visit.

This is not normal, correct?

Was the car coded, with Bimmercode or something similar ?
The first color, Bronze, is overwritten in coding to any color you choose.

If it was not coded, then definitely a problem.

I did code some stuff, but the ambient wasn't one of them.

Ok, that's a weird one for sure. Dealer visit. Maybe you get the new 3/2022 software update. I just got it. Adds a lot of stuff to I Drive.

Checked the coding... I changed nothing involving the ambient lighting. Will bring it up when I get my oil changed.

Are you the original owner and was the hideous "Bronze" working as designed at one point? If you are getting Blue when selecting Bronze, it sounds like it's been coded. You can probably fix this yourself instead of a trip to the dealer. They may actually accuse you of doing coding and charge you to fix it. Just go into bimmercode and change it back to Bronze.

What new "stuff" did you note in the 3/2022 update? I am on 7/2021 and will ask the dealer for an update next time I due in.

No, second owner. Do you know the specific module(s) & codes? I looked and will need to get into expert mode but don't read German.

You dont need to get into expert mode to change colors.

I cant remember which module its under, but its pretty easy to find.
It might be under body main controller or something like that.

Once you find it, if Blue is selected then that is your problem.
The upper and lower colors you select will overwrite the "Bronze" color and those colors you selected will now display when you select Bronze on your I Drive. If you want the factory Bronze back, just select Bronze upper and Bronze lower.

I was using Bimmercode yesterday so fresh in my memory. It is in the BDC (Body Domain Controller) module and it's on the Simple menu. Super straight forward. Make sure BC is updated.

WINNER, WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER (but not at Mrs. Knotts. That place sucks after Cedar Fair took over!)! I was looking under iDrive and not the BDC. Once I got there and saw the options I remember changing the bronze (default) to blue/cyan. I changed it back and all is as it should be.

lol! You're welcome. Should have left some cool configs for the two Bronze entries. Here's mine. I like the yellow and green much better.
