If you plan on keeping the vehicle long term, get an extended warranty/coverage.
I purchased one from my dealer which added 6 years / 100000 miles to my factory warranty (to 2030/120000 miles). These models have been pretty reliable except some coolant loss issues, so it’s good to have the peace of mind. |

You don’t have to purchase extended coverage right away. You can wait until just before your factory warranty or CPO coverage runs out.

Congrats! You will love it.
I bought a 10 year extended warranty and I’m a gearhead/wrencher at heart. One look under the hood was enough to tell me I am not screwing with this thing. Whatever policy you wind up getting, just make sure it’s an exclusionary policy where they clearly outline things not covered… that list should be short. |

Looking at the contract it was 84 months / 100000 miles for $5300 for TruWarranty which is prefered by the dealer.
When I called earlier in the week before purchasing, I was quoted $4000 for the BMW warranty, but was told prices change daily. When I was off work and came in a few days later, I was told it is $5k for BMW. Not sure why it changed (either sales tactic or my car just passing the 2 year mark the same week). In the end, I went with the 3rd party which gave me the extra mileage and years for the same price. |

7 years/120k miles for $2700. Did you check your contract to see if they cap hourly labor payments? Some of the shady extended warranties do that. Route 66 does not.

No hourly cap, just $100 deductible and preauthorization required (but the dealer said they take care of the preauthorization part).

They also have Zero deductible, and you can transfer the policy to another owner for $50 if you sell. Many members on Bimmerpost use Route66. Mine was low because I have really low miles for my 2020 M550, most are paying around $3200

Dont have the Contract yet. Was just purchased today actually through my Credit Union. But, from what I understand from others who purchased it, there is no "gotcha" things such as engine seals/gaskets etc. Pretty much everything is covered except what they list as "wear" items. Suggest you call them if you're skeptical.
