I drove my car to the doctor today

I've been working from home since March, and it's the rare exception now that I drive the car anywhere. I still like it, it's a nice car, but certainly I'm not the only one out there who is paying a monthly lease on something that just sits in the garage and gets dusty. I may wax it this weekend, just to do something.

I have another car which gets most of the "fun drives to nowhere" since it has a manual transmission and is almost a sports car.

I agree but I have tired to get out and drive the cars on the weekends, still being careful and such. I do lease 2 cars and may just turn the one in next year if working remote continues.

Its the same with me here... I have worked from home since mid March and will continue to do so for some time to come. In all likelihood my need to physically go to my workplace will be a lot less in the future than previously so I'm in the same position. I've driven about 300 miles since March, and if that continues to be the case I'll probably just keep this car for a considerable period of time! The little boy inside keeps asking for a new toy but even he can't see the logic in spending £££ on something that essentially just sits in the garage!

Is this a bad thing? Working from home and living the Euro life, I often take the MTB or walk, so I do about 30kms per week in the 5er. So, like you, not much. Car still looks, feels, and drives like new.

Nothing wrong with that!

Same here. Permanently WFH since the pandemic. Between all 4 cars (not counting the wife's) I put at most 2k miles on them a year. I'm fine with that. Whenever I go out to take a walk and see everybody stuck in traffic I'm happy not to be there.

Makes driving any of the cars more of an event, which is nice. I still make sure I take them all out routinely and enjoy them, because as somebody told me once "if you don't drive them and enjoy them now, someone will surely do it when you're dead". As ominous as that sounds, I'm definitely not keeping my cars pristine for the next guy.

I work as a doctor and drive a regular car not for work. I can’t come to a sports car. I remember at the university I was looking for nursing help, I used https://ca.edubirdie.com/nursing-help for this. Now I have become a doctor myself, how quickly time flies. I want to buy myself a new car for work.
