FL has some of the worst inventory, either in terms of the options/condition of the cars or the price. I bought my M550i from out of state after months of searching. Sold my 3 series to one of the local carmax type of places for a decent price.

Is 40k mi on a 2021 M550i for sale high

Hello to all. I have not owned a BMW before and researching to purchase a CPO 2021 M550i w/40k mi on it.
Looking for any feedback on the mileage as its high w/build date 10/20.
1 owner and same dealer completed the servicing.

Here are a few key CPO service data results w/no additional mileage on the parts.
2 new rear tires, fronts have 4mm left
All 4 wheels checked for any curbing, passed
All 4 new rotors, pads and sensors
4-wheel alignment
Brake fluid flushed/changed

Battery was @ 12.1v which is a concern as I read 12.5 is optimal, correct? It's going on 4yrs too.

If interested in more data, below is the sale link.

nice color, I don't see too many of these and especially great contrast with the black wheels!

Yes, color combo is nice. Mileage is a concern, even with one owner and same dlr service records.

The price is fair for the mileage. It is a nice spec and looks to be maintained well based on the CPO report (assuming the Carfax looks good). 40K isn't an issue. I bought mine with 35K on it, so not too far off from 40K. It was in impeccable condition, and other than a couple of things taken care of under warranty (nothing to do with previous owner), it has been flawless. I am at 49.5K and going strong. Got a Route 66 EW valid through 2030/120K miles so I am not losing any sleep over mileage.

I'm sure it's fine, but for me I drive about 25-30k sometimes as I use it for business as well so I can't start at a mileage like that. I probably need to be around 10k-15k ideally. I'll be patient.. there is one locally a 21 with 14k on it but it has the 19's and I kind of wanted the 20's... it's also expensive considering it's a 21 asking 62k lol...

$62K was standard asking price for a nicely equipped, lower mileage, two year old M550i during my search in 2022 (and even in 2023). In FL, it is the dealer fees that make the OTD price laughable.

Good to know as I learn pricing on these.. yes dealers are crazy here and they also want to make a lot on the purchase of my m40 … hard to avoid all this as the non headache of trading in has some value to me, plus the tax savings helps a bit but yes trading in a car in around here is an expensive adventure… everything here lately seems too expensive lol

well I thank you all for your advice... in a close race the 5 barely lost out to a 23 scat pack charger widebody (yes, again).

I got close on a few m550's but at the end of the day I just couldn't resist the last call of these cars.. I've had about 5 of them lol.. and they are great. It's not comparable to a 5 in many ways but it came down to the 5, the charger, or the x3m for ME. the x3m is just too hard to find without being too old or high mileage and while the 5's were plentiful, they aren't cheap either. I did not make my decision based on price though, for me it's hard to beat the feel/sound/fun factor that only a naturally aspirated American pushrod v8 enjoys... here is a few pics in the next thread for ya. again thank you for all the helpful insight, this could be my next car since these will no longer be made unfortunately...

Congrats. Those are certainly impressively spec’d cars. I guess at the end of the day you chose American engineering over German Engineering. Completely different from a drivers car perspective. Just don’t hang any fuzzy dice from the mirror please😜.

Beautiful car!

other questions...

do these have a spare or a spare option or are we dealing with the hated, run flat only?

also, do we know if the 23's are the same as the 22's and 21's when it comes to brake pads? I would want to install powerstops or something similar day 1 as I will not tolerate the dust lol... I installed them on m40 at 400 miles and I'm at 15k, the wheels actually stay gloss black instead of matte brake dust black, for weeks at a time. the oems after day 1 they are gross and need to be cleaned. but as usual, powerstop only lists the 21 and 22 which are the same so I'm wondering if anyone can confirm the 23 is the same. I'm looking at a 23 right now and it's expensive, but it's mint and the colors in and out are perfect, with a clean history ..

one of the 21's I was looking at had some strange services that scare me, suspension part replacements among other things..

also do we have the auto start stop BS issue? can it be coded off or coded to start in sport indy or some workaround? can't deal with that feature if it can't be shut off.

wish I could find a 22 with 10-15k but I have yet to see any locally anwhere near this and the one I found was at some shady dealer in miami... I'd rather wait and at least get it from bmw not that it really matters but at least if theres a real problem, it's a lot easier to get it taken care of....

No spare. Run flat or be ready for a tow. Personally I just run the risk of needing to be towed, no way I am buying a car like this and driving it with run flats.

I did a lot of reading when I bought my 2021 and I do [...]
Who was the dealer? I’d like to look them up.

Beautiful car!
Where I live and where I’m from, south florida, doesn’t lend itself to any exciting roads whatsoever… there is no canyon carving or tail or the dragon type roads, to the contrary it’s literally straight flat roads so yes I chose a bad handling (American engineering vs German) car in comparison , but what it is great at is straight line power , fun, feel, and sound. It’s perfect for where I live. Also never snow or anything so rear drive only is fine and even preference for me.

Keep looking they're out there. Also don't be afraid to buy out of state.

On the BMW website I located a CPO '22 m550 with only 6500 miles on it. Thing is a unicorn it has the b&w sound system, driving assistance pro, parking assistance plus, luxury seating package. The original owner also had ppf installed on the front bumper, hood, headlights and a pillars.

I had it shipped from CO to NH all in about 68k including covered transport door to door. All organized by the dealership it was seamless.
