Hello!

I'm looking to buy a used 540D xdrive, and on pics it seems its Harman Kardon, but the description says the following:

Harman Kardon surround sound system, HiFi speaker system, sound system (HARMAN/KARDON)

Does it mean it's not fully harman kardon? and only some parts of it are? Is this a bad combination?

also it says there is air suspension at the rear, but not in the front? why is it not at both? I heard you can lower your car with it but if only one side has it, when how do you lower the car?

If you can get the vin, you can run it past a vin decoder and it will tell you everything that came on the car out of the factory

I’m 99.9999999% sure that on the estates, air suspension is only on the rear. Never offered on the front. Presumably for self levelling purposes

Ye i know, the mdecoder is a very good site, but it shows nothing on this VIN for some reason..

bimmer.work can parse your VIN and it shows the car has the HK system.

The G31 does have air in the rear.

If you want to upgrade the suspension further, you would get sport shocks and springs for the front, and the rear comes with "Koppelstangen." Don't actually know the word in English as I have been over here too long now.

Anyways, the Koppelstangen stop your air suspension from rising beyond the point set by the manufacturer of the sport kit.

If you go even further, KW has a set of coilovers that partially replace the BMW air units. Looks very nice, but is very pricy.

You can lower the rear by fitting a pair of adjustable ride height sensor links, Eibach do them for £70 & the front you can fit a pair of lowered springs, plenty of choice available AC Schnitzer, Eibach, H&R etc
