My First BMW! 2020 M550i
My last 5 vehicles have been Merc 420, Merc 550, Jag XJR (x2), and, most recently a Stg1 600hp Audi S7. While I’m missing my S7, I’m really am enjoying my first BMW, a 2020 M550i.
I ordered the vehicle December 2, 2020, here is the build: Rhodonite Silver Metallic Black Nappa Leather Grey Popular Wood Trim Driving Assist Plus Dynamic Handling Package Luxury Seating Package Parking Assistance Package Executive Package 19” M wheel 664M w/perf rft Heated Steering Wheel Space Saver spare Front and Rear Heated Seats Leather Dashboard Ceramic Controls Bowers and Wilkins sound system Post Delivery – Delivered March 9, 2020 Tires/Wheels – Discount Tire Beyern Ritz 20x9 5-112 +25 Gloss BlackBody Parts IND Painted 5-Series Center Grill TrimWindow Tint - Protective Film Solutions (Scottsdale, AZ) Side and rear windows XPEL XR PLUS 30Paint Work - Rolling Arts Motorsports (Scottsdale, AZ) Paint rear spoiler gloss blackA couple of loose ends, I am waiting for the world to get back to some normalcy so I can test fit some spacers. Also, I want to research options for lowering a vehicle with the dynamic handling package. If anyone has had any experience here, I’m wide open to suggestions. I may also find a gloss black diffuser or paint the stock part. Final notes. I not a fan of the Cerium Grey on the Silver, that is one of the reasons for all the body parts. The other is I like the black look. Although I’ve never done this before, I replaced all the pieces on my own in my garage. I had plenty of time to research as the vehicle was getting built. The hardest part was the side reflectors and the front bumper trim. I’ve been in the tire business my whole life and purposely ordered this vehicle with the stock 19” performance set up and a spare tire. The reason for the performance tires was to get 840 included in the build, which increased the top speed limiter. The spare tire was for ride purposes, and I wanted to get away from the run-flats. Sorry for the lengthy rambling….. Bottom line, I'm H A P P Y!!! |

The black looks great with the silver vs. the cerium. Although the cerium looks better with my red than your silver, the gloss black looks even better. So like you, I switched it all over to the gloss black, except the mirror covers in CF to match the CF spoiler. Now as soon as we get opened back up again my body shop is going to paint my lower rear bumper cover and wheels in the same gloss black.
Great job on your car! |

Looks Awesome, Color is truly stunning in person, we had one in the shop couple weeks back, Had a set of Vossen HF-5's on it and it looked amazing! He also did the midpipe with the resonator delete and it sounded better then the M5 comp we had in the shop at the same time.

Great job with all the mods. Same stuff I would have changed/modified without any of the tacky over the top stuff that usually makes me cringe. Nice ride... enjoy

We think alike. Love your gloss black with the silver. Did the same thing for the same reason with my rosso corsa. Still waiting on my body shop to reopen so they can paint my lower rear bumper cover and OE wheels gloss black.

Glad you're enjoying it.
I've got an order in for a MY 2021 M550i (you can see the build details on this thread: https://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1724947 (page down a bit - it changed since I first posted it) and I'm expecting delivery in late July-ish at the Performance Center in SC. I'm not planning on doing the level of tinkering you're doing (at least not yet), but I'm seriously considering the paint protection film. Have you had any major issues with it (mechanical, electrical, etc.). I spent a lot of time researching the G30 before committing to the purchase, including spending about an hour with the service advisor that' been taking care of my F10 for the last several years, but it's always nice to hear from an owner. Thanks
