Has anyone replaced the door lock switch?

The lock switch on the passenger door sticks. Has anyone dealt or replaced the switch?

I know how to remove the trim panel, and I can also remove the wood trim part. But the lock switch seems to be really stuck in the wood trim part. I think there are tabs to remove it, but I can't seem to find them or see them.

Is there a trick to this? Any ideas? or links to tutorials, pictures, or videos?

Thx!
The car is a 2023 G30. The trim is used / replacement trim, so I can't really take it to the dealer. Besides, I like the challenge!

The car is under warranty but the trim is not. I bought the trim used and installed it myself so I doubt it’s covered. When they remove the door panel it will be clear this is not the original trip because it is attached with screws not the melted plastic rivets bmw used. So this is a self repair.

I could swap it for the switch in my original trim but I don’t know how to remove it. It looks like it just pops out. But is it glued or something? I don’t want to try and then break the plastic.

Remove the central locking button
  • Release the latch mechanisms at marked points with the special tool 0 493 681 (64 1 020)
  • Remove the central locking button (1)

Install the central locking button
  • Check the latch mechanisms (1) on the central locking button (2) on the left and right.

  • Position central locking button (1) and press into the door trim panel (2).
Central locking button (1) must engage correctly in the latch mechanisms in the marked areas.
