Truth be told, I've only had two BMW I6s. The rest were V8's. My first BMW was an E30 with three pedals. Bought new. The other I6 was a 530i E39. Bought for my son as his first car. Big mistake. Totaled it. Kids should get Camrys and Accords.

My first car was my dad's Infiniti J30. Way too much car for me. It was fast. I didn't total it, but did throw a rod and kill the engine. My best guess is that he didn't account for the increased miles I was driving over what he does (he will do 30k miles over 5-6 years) and I didn't know anything about maintaining cars. So I think we missed an oil change and I drove it like NASCAR.

I love cars. I probably will end up with a 550 eventually, as a primary or secondary vehicle. But I'll probably be buying it used because by the time I can afford one in prestige shape, they won't make them anymore! But I've said stuff like that before and been wrong… knowing me, it could be two years from now buying a 2022 with 10k miles on it.

The M550i is completely unknown as it's only been on sale here for about 18months

If you are member of the M550i Owners Group on Facebook a good friend of mine Jörgen Johansson presented production data in april 2020. So the data is a little bit old and does not include the lci. But I guess it gives some input of how common the M550i is. The data also shows how many of different Colors have been made.

If I ever went the individual route, my choice would be Imola Red on Caramel Merino fully extended everywhere.

I don't know what I'd pick but I'd love to see the different greens. Like British Racing Green or maybe even something I little darker.

I’m in Memphis. I don’t think I’ve seen any that are G30. Seen some F series.

Makes even more happy with my Champaign Quartz Metallic 2020 M550. That color wasn’t even on my radar, just happened to find it. It had all the options I wanted and I knew it was an “individual” paint color on the pre-LCI, so I bit. Had to buy sight unseen and take a leap of faith on the color. Really really happy with it.

It was the same for me with the G31 & wasn’t sure until we went to see it in the flesh. CQM is a great colour & not many G30’s in that colour & even less G31’s.
