Hello ALL,
new here, just purchased a pre-owned 2022 m550 and a little confusing about the sound system, on the window sticker the package is H&K surrounding sound pkg but inside the car all the speaks with B&W logo and match the lighting, however checking the sound setting it shows LOGIC7 so i did some research it is the H&K.
Forgive me it is the first time for me to own bmw and i get a lot of the mixed information online especially i am not the first owner.

so i am think i still have the H&K system but with b&W speakers? or did previous owner upgraded? please help.

The prior owner swapped in knock-off Bowers and Wilkins speakers. Not the worst thing in the world, from what I have read, they aren't bad and sound better than HK. Not sure about reliability or longevity though given they are chinese knock-offs. Genuine B&W speakers are lit, but just white, they don't change colors with the ambient lighting.

I replaced all my speakers/subs in my m550 with Alpha One by bimmertech. Very happy with the upgrade overall. I will probably swap the amp out next but speakers are a major improvement over the HK system which I was very disappointed with.

I think the full set of speakers was like 1.8k on sale. Amp is about the same if you want to go that route as well. Install of speakers (which you could do yourself if you wanted) was done by a local audio shop which was about $450ish if I recall correctly. I preferred them doing it instead of me as I didn't want to dismantle the car and deal with door panels and such. Just depends on how much time you have on your hands and how handy you are if you would rather do it yourself or pay someone else for the install. Nice thing is its all plug and play so makes it way better than having to do any significant changes you can't easily reverse. Hopefully this upcoming year ill buy the amp and install it as that looks fairly easy and straightforward.
